Product description
Grand Theft Auto V
Los Santos: a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets, and fading celebrities, once the envy of the Western world, now struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV.Amidst the turmoil, three very different criminals plot their own chances of survival and success: Franklin, a former street gangster, now looking for real opportunities and serious money; Michael, a professional ex-con whose retirement is a lot less rosy than he hoped it would be; and Trevor, a violent maniac driven by the next big score. Running out of options, the crew risks everything in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life.
The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game's three lead characters, playing all sides of the game's interwoven story.
All the classic hallmarks of the groundbreaking series return, including incredible attention to detail and Grand Theft Auto's darkly humorous take on modern culture, alongside a brand new and ambitious approach to open world multiplayer.
Developed by series creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V will be available worldwide for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17.
Blaine County
Our largest open world yet - by far - and spanning vastly diverse cultural and geographical areas, the entire world of Grand Theft Auto V is open from the very beginning of the game to explore. Visitors to the greater metropolis of Los Santos and the countryside of Blaine County will encounter faded celebrities, meth heads, party people, violent gangs, hikers, bikers and every other manner of colorful denizen. You'll be able to traverse everywhere from the tops of the mountains, through the streets of Los Santos and to the depths of the ocean floor.
Michael, Franklin and Trevor
Three playable protagonists - Michael, Franklin and Trevor may live in different parts of town, have their own issues, attitudes, lifestyles, desires and goals - but they do know how to work together. They also each have their own unique skillsets to bring to the table when it's time to get the job done.
Heists
Petty crimes, hustling and stealing cars can only get you so far in Los Santos. To score big, Michael, Franklin and Trevor will work together to pull off grand Heists - big, multi-part missions that require careful preparation, recruiting, and precise (and often explosive) execution. Cash is king in GTAV and while there will be plenty of ways to acquire and spend it - heists are the way to earn the big bucks.
"Recreational Activity"
The open world of Grand Theft Auto V is not just massive in scale, but will offer more to get into than ever before. For recreation, play a bit of golf or tennis, zen out with some yoga or cycle through the countryside... For adrenaline heads, parachute over the city, or customize your Cheetah and take it to the streets to race suckers for money... Or earn cash the old fashioned way, by taking it - whether by ripping off liquor stores or by buying and taking over businesses that will earn you dividends... Even minding your own business having a stroll you may meet one of Los Santos' weirdos, junkies, drunkies, or starlets and find yourself off on a wild misadventure you never expected...
Install Information
Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar Games has yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on the PlayStation 3.
Grand Theft Auto V ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

After playing GTA 5, I'm quite sure there is nothing else I now want to do with my life. Complete relapse. The reasons why the game has made this happen are pretty well documented so...
The PS3 itself, it's bigger than I thought it would be in comparison to previous 'slim' consoles but the original was a beast. It feels and looks well made, someone else mentioned the disc access being reassuringly 90's - it is. Nothing will be irretrievable from that. The 500gigs this model comes with in comparison to the other slim on amazon (which is 100, 120? I forget) bearing in mind you're getting the game as well - makes this the best value for money. Whether or not you need all that space is irrelevant.
It's still noisy though, but in the last four years I've only watched dvd's and listened to cd's so I've forgotten if this is the norm. Any games have been played on a pc or mac. It is a constant, dare I say annoying, disc spinning - stop - disc spin - thud thud - spin - stop - and so on. But as I say this probably the nature of the beast and who really cares, you're playing GTA 5!
No HDMI cable included, no big deal - I'm pretty sure the original didn't have one either. But do order/use one. It's better. Included was a free poster advertising some film on one side and gran turismo on the other, most handy for putting under your shoes while polishing. Oh and the code for the blimp is in the game box.
Downloading some updates for the console, loading the game took around 40 minutes - bearing in mind I've now wasted over 15 hours playing the game it's pretty good going.
In fact, I'm going to play some more now.
I like the TV apps, 4OD, ITV Player etc all work very well. The You Tube app is pretty good too. These are much like having a computer plugged into your TV, though not quite as good. That's consoles really. Much like computers, but not quite as good. But curiosity got the better of me and now when the nephews come to stay I have a bunch of Sports games bought for peanuts from CEX.
Oh, Grand Theft Auto V... It's much like Grand Theft Auto IV. And playing any game with shooter elements with a pad rather than a mouse and keyboard I will always find frustrating. So I'd wait for the PC version if you have a powerful PC to make up for the lack of optimisation that is likely...
I do wonder though why anyone would buy an Xbox One or PS4 when the older consoles are already so capable as games machines and multi-media devices.
Graphics look STUNNING and crystal clear on a HD tv (HDMI lead not provided but can get one from Asda for under £10).
Game is amazing, lots to do, fun!
Console is a nice slim one which barely makes any noise.
The only flaw I had which is why a star has been lost is because Amazon choose to use YODEL as their courier and I think the majority of Britain know that YODEL is the WORST courier services available. (Cheap but not cheerful).
I paid express delivery to have it delivered on the Saturday morning, sat all day, even took the day off work for this delivery only to check my Track Package option to say Yodel had attempted to deliver the package but nobody was at home.
..yes, thats right. Apparently me sitting at my window meant nobody was at home(!) Didnt get the package till Monday.
Other than that - Fantastic deal - GET IT, dont think about it, just do it!
Great bundle, with sufficient space 500gb, have not got a bad word to say about gta the game, everyone should know what it is about as well. Apart from the kamikaze soldier police that hunt you down the moment u look in their direction which gets kind of annoying. But after a while you get better at out running them and this game never gets boring. So much depth....UPDATE bought originally for £220 in nov 2013 2years later the price has gone up over £100. Damnnnnnn
