Do not buy this fabulous rice cooker as a Christmas Present

This rice cooker is brilliant. perfect rice everytime. My only mistake was to present it to the other half as a Christmas gift. BIG MISTAKE. No matter how well intentioned you are, your significant other (not a bloke obvs) will not appreciate it's functionality, it's low cost, it's ease of use, the brilliant results. Because guys this is NOT in Christmas pressie territory. You may as well book yourself straight into A&E.. Any other time of the year say "Look what I bought us for the house." and give her the rice cooker, you will be a hero. But for the love of God and all that is holy it's not a Chrimbo pressie.

My son suggested this cooker; he makes the rice and had been using a plastic Microwave type rice cooker. Although the plastic one was very good we decided perhaps better to dich it as we were concerned about the chemicals in the plastic when hot.
This cooker is a good size. Would say you could easily cook enough rice for 5-6 hungry adults. We only cook for three & sometimes add some extra for the dog!
What is amazing about this cooker is the fact no matter how much rice you cook it turns off automatically; no timing input to worry about. Just turn on, (wait till light tells you its ready), measure amount of rice with the cup provided add the water to match and that's it. Even keeps the rice warm...

I was about to return this item, because I thought was not working.... then suddenly I realised that apart from the main turning on/off at front... there a another small bottom in left side where you turn on/off.
Great pan.. just be aware off the double bottoms...

Burns rice and veggie steamer almost unusuable

I rarely give products a bad rating, but oh man this one deserves a one-star without a doubt... as plenty of other reviewers mentioned, the rice in contact with the cooker will get burnt no matter what... So unless you cook HUGE portions of rice (in which case the rice at the top will be ok, whilst the bottom part will remain burnt) and only plan to eat half of it, you'll constantly get burnt rice. I've tried different ratios of water, and the issue remains; has to do with the non-stick coating that heats-up waaaayy to much during the cooking, hence ending-up burning the rice. The other reason I had bought this cooker was for the veggie steamer, but it's almost unusable: there are no handles to take in it or out of the cooker, meaning you'll likely burn your hands after cooking.

Avoid at all costs. Russel Hobbs clearly didn't test and think the whole product through.

A good quality, reasonably priced product which takes the guesswork out of cooking rice. I have just bought another one for my daughter.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must turn off the On/Off switch at the back of the pan at the end of cooking OTHERWISE THE HEATING ELEMENT STAYS ON. (I discovered this some hours later: my fault for not following instructions exactly but I think the manufacturer could make this clearer.)

Faulty rice cooker.

Disappointed. It was great up until it stopped working. Only used it a few times then noticed that the metal thing inside has melted. Would not recommend the product seeing as a lot of people have experienced the same fault. I missed the return window for the product and now I'm not sure if I can get it replaced or refunded.. That's £20 wasted :(

Cheap and rubbish.

Lasted less than a week - rice always had a 'skin' on the bottom, cooker just died for no reason, checked fuse and wasn't that. Very cheap and frankly can't be bothered with the hassle of returning a £15 item so it's in the bin.
