      My go to choice of brakes. I am a commuter 90% on tarmac. These are effective good quality brakes in dry and wet conditions (hence the multi-compound). The key thing to rememberhowever is like everything else you have to consider what is your priority/need. This isn't the best in the wet or the hardest wearing but even those qualities in a brake will have a compromise. These are 'jack of all trades' so perfect for me ticking all the necessary boxes and most important they work - effective stopping power in all conditions. What I particularly like is if you initially buy the complete brakes (shoes with pads) it means you only have to buy the pads after - a good saving, Some people seem to have some trouble with fitting these as they come with no instructions - think assumption users will know? Was straightforward for me to work out when I got my first pair but just in case to change pads: 1) take brake shoe off brake lever arm (2) locate small pin towards back of shoe and pull out (you may need small pliers) - put it somehere you won't forget/lose! (3) slide out old pad (4) carefully note left/right indicators on top of the shoe and slide in the correct pad ie colours/shaped aligned (refer to old pad for guidance) (5) take the pin and squeezing the clip push it back into the hole FIRMLY to ensure it is locked in place (can do this by hand or small pliers) (6) repeat for other shoe then reattach both back to brake arms.
      Given 4/5 simply because squeels a bit in the wet (even when toed in) and multi-compound means it isn't the hardest wearing BUT as I said that's the compromise.

      These brake pads are very efficient and last well, but I have one major qualm: the little pin that you need to push in to retain them in their mount is very hard to push in, and very easy to bend out of shape. If you don't push the pin in properly, the brake pad can slip out in use. It happened to me once. I had fitted the pin, as best as I could see how, but I had pushed it from the underside upwards and it had not, unbeknown to me, gone all the way in. Gravity was against it, and it fell out when I was braking, resulting in the pad on one side slipping out causing sudden and total failure of my back brakes. To be fair, the manufacturer does NOT include any instructions on how to fit the pin, either on the packaging or on their website, so presumably they are trying to discourage the amateur from doing so. Apart from that, no complaints.
