  • Bernard Wright was a young piano player from Queens, New York who made these two Classic Jazz (Funk) albums in the early Eighties, Bernard was only sixteen when he recorded the 1981 album “’Nard”.
  • “’Nard” features the two heavily sampled tracks ‘Hoboglabotribin’ and ‘Spinnin’’. Snoop Dogg sampled ‘Hoboglabotribin’ on the track ‘G’s And Hustlers’ and Skee-Lo sampled ‘Spinnin’’ on his hit single ‘I Wish’, and another highlight of the album is a version of Miles Davis’ ‘Solar’.
  • The “Funky Beat” album allowed Bernard to explore many areas of black music including Jazz, Soul, Funk & Break Beats. There are two standout tracks on the album - Weldon Irvine’s ‘Mr Clean’ and the track ‘Joy Spring’; both tracks produced by Dave Grusin & Larry Rosen.
  • The package contains extensive liner notes by Jazz FM’s Ralph Tee.
