I used this to cheaply replace the defective HDD on my iPod with a 32MB compact flash card. It worked perfectly first time so I cannot fault it. It all fitted inside my [thick] 4th generation iPod but might be a tighter squeeze in say a slimmer 5th generation device. Plenty of stuff about this upgrade on the web. Roger

I had a 4th Gen (click wheel) iPod and the hard drive had died (again). Instead of paying £30 for a new 20GB one I decided to get this and just put in a 32GB compact flash card.
It makes the iPod much lighter, faster and will be more resilient to drops/bumps etc.
