Lasted an hour then fizzled out for a 40W fan from US which was an impulsive buy as I figured could be useful from summers and cheap combined with a transformer. The buyer accepted a return but it would have been costlier to return it for its price. Poor quality of electronics. Avoid.
I bought this transformer to run some christmas tree lights I had purchased in the US. The transformer lasted for a few hours only before filling the room with pungent smoke and going into melt down. Potentially dangerous.
This transformer / US adapter is fine - but heavy. I bought mine to charge my tablet on the road in the UK. The weight rather cancels out the point of a tablet - for the combined weight I might as well take my laptop. The charge rate is well above what is achieved by plugging my tablet / MP3 player into a USB port of a compuer - I guess that a recharge via this transformer is 4 times faster. Very useful. Overall, it is fine.
This item was purchased for use with electrical equipment made to American standards. In use it has been found to be highly successful , and is the answer to powering equipment made for the American market and possibly items with similar voltage.
The product arrived on time. It had a loose part in it. Perhaps it may still be OK to use it. But to be on the safe side I refrained from using it. Got in touch with the customer services. I was sent the replacement product. Very happy with the service I received.
