- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 August 2010I can honestly say I was shocked at just how good this screen actually is. For the price tag, compared to the price of other screens that are of this size, resolution and functionality, it is literally unbeatable.
The screens native resolution is 1920 x 1080 which is Full HD. This can be utilised using the either the HDMI or DVI, of which the monitor has ports for both (with a VGA port for those who use it). Although the screen supports HDMI, there are no speakers - however, the monitor has a Digital Optical OUT and 3mm Audio OUT to connect directly to external speakers or a 5.1 digital setup. The screen does not actually feature a button system, however it has a touch sensitive panel on the front of the display which is used to access the menus and switch between inputs. The screen features a 'wine red' tint around the clear edge which give the screen a modern feel.
The packaging is molded styrofoam and the accessories are separated from the screen. The accessories include a DVI cable, a UK power cable, a US power cable, an installation CD for colour calibration (not always necessary), instruction manuals, screen stand and warranty. The stand slots together in two pieces and screws secure and is then inserted into the underneath of the monitor. I don't think it clicks but it is secure enough to not fall out when the screen is lifted. The screen has mounting holes on the back as well for if you wish to have this mounted on a wall or hanging bracket.
Through DVI the picture is sharp and at 1920 x 1080 the picture is crystal clear. I would suggest that you set the Picture Mode to 'Cool' as it the default 'Normal' settings push the colour quite a bit. Apart from that, its perfectly fine. Through HDMI the picture is as expect, sharp and again, crystal clear. Let your XBOX or PS3 determine the best output setting and it will automatically adjust to the best setting for the console. It has a 2ms response speed which means less blurry images, very noticeable when playing console games. The audio from the 3mm OUT port on the back is great, there is plenty of space for the headphone/aux wire to be connected. Windows 7 recognises the screen straight away and was able to create a dual screen setup within minutes of connecting the screen (picture on the Image Gallery).
My only minor complaints about the screen (complaint being too harsh a word) concern the touch panel and surfaces. Every now and then the touch panel can be a bit extreme in how it responds to presses, it may not respond first touch or it may respond as if it has been pressed multiple times - however this doesn't happen often and once you've changed the initial settings you will find you rarely need to even use the menus. Also the screen itself attracts dust and fluff, although a quick once-over every few days eliminates this. These are very minor issues that I'm bringing up and are just for your information, you will very soon forget these as the screen makes up for it.
People have made comment about the stand making the screen shaky - This is true if you are working on a stand alone work station that may cause the screen to move if it is shook, however if this is on a regular fixed desk then this isn't an issue at all.
I'm giving the screen 5/5, the minor issues are easily overlooked and the screen itself is an absolute bargain for the price available on Amazon.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 January 2011This is the first time i have ever done a review, but i bought this monitor to sit next to my 20" HP and wanted to use the 24" for photoshop, I had it connected via HDMI and basically the colours and quality of the Samsung is nothing compared to the HP, Im sending it back because its just not good enough, (not what you'd expect from a Samsung) but text seems blurred and hard to read and the colour is definitely nothing like the quality of HP.
I hope this review helps. I will certainly think twice before buying something before i've seen it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2010After reading about all the delivery problems experienced by customers due to the weather, I can only describe the speed of Amazon's delivery of this item to the Irish Republic as incredible. I certainly didn't expect to receive my package quite so soon after placing the order. How do they do it? As for the monitor, what can I add to the many 5-star reviews this superb piece of equipment has already received? Never having owned an HD monitor before, I am totally blown away by the quality of the performance of the Samsung. It far surpasses anything I expected. Although the software would not work on my computer, apparently because of an incompatability problem with my graphics card, it did not matter, as the touch controls give as much control as is necessary and are extremely easy to use. Text is pin-sharp and even the smallest print is crystal clear. I chose the Samsung make, not only on the strength of all the 5-star reviews, but because my wife's laptop is a Samsung and I am very impressed with that. The company certainly seems to have built a reputation on producing high quality reliable equipment. Cosmetically, no illustration could possibly do this monitor justice. It is very hard to see the "rose red" colour in any light and I would be more inclined to call it high gloss black. I was a little concerned about previous reviewers' mention of a green caste on the image, and also the instability of the stand. I was relieved therefore, to have found neither of these problems with my particular monitor. All in all, a great product at a very competitive price.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 December 2010Looks.
Gorgeous. from the rose tint to glass edge it looks the bees knees. even the touch controls look good.
The image is nice and sharp but the viewing angle is limited, I use it at an office desk and can see a noticeable colour shift at the edges which disappear when I move my head to the side.
As the supplied software will not work on my OS of choice I used this site. [...]
To calibrate the screen, Tricky with touch controls but only has to be done once and as it done with the screen I don't have to do it again when I install/upgrade another distro.
Peripherals.
The stand looks a bit flimsy but as I have mine wall mounted it doesn't matter.
The supplied leads DVI and VGA Are OK but cheap and a bit short. I bought a 2 meter DVI lead and the quality was miles better.
It also came with UK and European power leads.
Multimedia.
Watching TV and movies is excellent no blur/lag and colour is good, No colour bleed at a distance.
Games are good (open arena, penumbra, tremulous etc).
For the money it's an excellent buy. Would have been 5 stars but for the slight colour change at an angle.
Edit.
Screen developed a fault one day after purchase date but 2 days before it was delivered.
It seems Amazons warranty is from day of purchase so had to contact Samsung number they supplied.
Once through the call 1 for **** 2 for*** .I talked to an advisor and gave a link to a picture of the screen they agreed to a replacement by courier within a couple of days.
Thank you Samsung.

M. TheryReviewed in France on 30 October 20105.0 out of 5 stars Belle image, bien contrastée

ARNOReviewed in France on 9 July 20103.0 out of 5 stars Tbien mais.....

Roux ClaudeReviewed in France on 15 December 20094.0 out of 5 stars Excellent... mais.

JP13Reviewed in France on 30 May 20105.0 out of 5 stars moniteur LCD Samsung P2450H
Excellent produit.
A recommander absolument.
