Safe from birth.
LACTASE ENZYME FOR ADDING TO INFANT MILK OR BREASTMILK TO REDUCE LACTOSE CONTENT.
Transient lactase deficiency can result in the temporary digestive discomfort caused by undigested lactose in food. This can be an important factor in some babies with colic. Coliefandreg; may help reduce the hours of crying by breaking-down the lactose in the baby's usual milk and making this more easily digestible.Coliefandreg; is a registered trademark of Crosscare Ltd.

From the manufacturer
Could it be colic?
Colic is characterised by repeated episodes of excessive, inconsolable crying in an otherwise healthy newborn. These episodes can last for hours and often occur at specific times, typically in the evening. Colic is common, affecting up to one in five babies, so you are not alone. It usually begins between two to four weeks of age and peaks in the first few months. While most cases resolve by three to four months, some infants may experience symptoms for a shorter duration, whereas others may continue until six months of age. The timing and severity can vary, but colic is a temporary phase in a baby’s development.
Symptoms of Colic
Arched back
Drawing up of the knees
3+ Hours of crying
Flushed Cheeks
Colief Infant Drops
Suitable from birth, Colief Infant Drops help break down lactose in milk into simpler sugars, glucose and galactose, making it easier for babies to digest both breast milk and infant formula. The drops are completely natural and contain lactase enzyme, which naturally aids digestion and can help relieve colic symptoms caused by temporary lactose intolerance.
How to use Colief Infant Drops
BREASTFEEDING WITH COLIEF (4 Drops)
- Express about a tablespoon (15ml) of breast milk into a clean container.
- Add 4 drops of Colief to the milk.
- Give this to your infant on a spoon before initiating breastfeeding.
USING COLIEF WITH INFANT FORMULA (4 Drops)
- Prepare your infant’s formula as per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add 4 drops of Colief to the warm (not hot) formula.
- Wait 30 minutes, gently shaking the formula occasionally, then feed your infant as normal, making sure that the formula is at the correct temperature.
- Discard any unused formula.
MAKING FORMULA IN ADVANCE WITH COLIEF (2 Drops)
- Prepare your infant’s formula as per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add 2 drops of Colief to the warm (not hot) formula.
- Store in your refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours before use.
- Feed your infant as normal making sure that the formula is at the correct temperature.
Top Tips For Dealing With Colic
- Although it is distressing, the most important thing to remember if your baby is affected by colic is to remain calm.
- Introduce a soothing routine around the time of the day when your baby’s colic is usually at its worst, this is typically in the evenings.
- Keep a log of the times when your baby’s colic is at its worst – you may be able to find a pattern associated with any triggers, allowing you to understand better how to ease the symptoms.
- Try a one-week trial of Colief Infant Drops to help diagnose whether temporary lactose intolerance could be the cause of your baby’s colic symptoms.
- Despite the characteristic inconsolable nature of the crying, it may be possible to reduce colic symptoms by trying different soothing techniques, as some babies may respond better to some techniques than others. You may find some of the following helpful:
- Holding the baby during crying episodes.
- Wearing baby in a sling.
- Gentle motion, such as rocking, pushing them in a pram or going for a drive.
- Background noise, such as the vacuum cleaner, hairdryer or washing machine.
- White noise.
- A warm bath.
- Baby massage.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 February 2015My baby had all the classic signs of colic and I really would not wish a colicky baby on anyone- it is the the worst!
We are exclusively breastfeeding and I do not like the idea of giving my newborn all kinds of random potions which include E numbers and other weird ingredients. Not to mention a lack of research into wether they actually work (infacol anyone?). Anyway I suspected that my baby's colic was down to a lactose intollerence because he was producing poohs that had a sandy consistency. He also had symptons of lactose overload (see google for more info). I had already tried block feeding and had eliminated dairy from my own diet. My older daughter has a mild lactose intollerence but it never caused issues during breastfeeding for her.
I finally tried colief and about 24hrs after starting to use it, I saw a marked difference in my baby- he started to be happy and smile more and his evening crying reduced significantly with each day.
After a few days I skipped using the drops during the night feeds and low and behold he started to be in pain with his tummy again. We are now using at every feed although I have to admit that I often put the drops directly onto my nipple before a feed and we are still see good results as hand expressing onto a spoon isn't always convenient. I wouldn't be without a bottle of this now!
Tonight he went to sleep no tears and no fuss when previously we would be pacing up and down whilst he fretted or he 'd be crying at the breast with milk going everywhere. It worked for us because the cause of the colic was lactose intollerence- lots of babies don't make enough of the enzyme lactase which breaks down the proteins in milk. Usually they are producing enough of their own by 3 or 4 months so I will start to reduce the colief when we get near that point to see if he can manage without it but for now we use it at every feed.
Yes the bottle is small but you only use a little amount at each feed. The active ingredient is an enzyme produced naturally in the gut . Lots of the other colic remedies are little more than unresearched hocus pocus and contain sugar, E numbers and goodness knows what else.
This product is expensive because it contains legitimate ingredients but it probably won't work if your baby isn't lactase deficient and the colic is caused by another issue. For us it's been a life saver!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 August 2024I used it for 3 months with my baby and I’m still not sure if it worked or not. Using it exactly by instruction is almost impossible if you are bottle feeding. It says you have to add it to lukewarm milk and then wait for 30 minutes, periodically shake it for it to activate. Anyone who has a baby knows it’s almost impossible as we feed on demand and first 3 months that demand can be anytime. But I still used it as my baby was extremely gassy, I was just adding drops when milked cooled to drinking temperature and give it right away. Not sure if it worked as it takes days to start working but I feel like we were a little better on it than without. No harm in trying and I liked the convenience of getting in delivered to my door.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2020My son was so colicky and you definitely get to the point of you'll buy and try anything. Infacol wasn't working and someone recommend this. It was brilliant and the only thing that worked. I recommended it to my mum friends and they said it worked for their littlens too. It's quite pricey I think as you have to do 4 drops each time and it's only a 7ml pot.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 August 2024Can't knock the product as I'm sure it works for some babies but sadly made our baby throw up all her milk
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2022These drops dont just help colic... they also cure constipation!!!!!!
My daughter was 15 weeks when I started her on these drops in each feed. She was very constipated and only managing to poo every 4-5 days. Doctor suggested changing milk to Lactose Free SMA (currently on cow & gate) but I was very reluctant to change as I know this can cause massive tummy upsets. I was recommended trying these drops by multiple other mums on a baby forum. I cannot tell you the instant change I saw in my daughter it was amazing!! She is now pooing EVERY day and is much happier. AMAZING!!!! Highly recommend defo worth every penny!!!!!

FzReviewed in the United States on 14 June 20125.0 out of 5 stars love this stuff
my baby had constipation problems with formula and this is the only thing that helped...the only draw back is you have to wait 30 min after u make the bottle before you can feed it to the baby...that is kind of hard to do when you have a hungry baby on your hands.

LizReviewed in Spain on 1 March 20205.0 out of 5 stars Una maravilla
