Product description

- Long overdue re-press for what was probably the rarest Bay City Rollers album, 1980’s “Voxx”, and which was only ever issued in Japan and Germany prior to the reissue by 7Ts.

- Includes the Japanese only single ‘God Save Rock & Roll’.

- Booklet includes original LP artwork, lyrics to all the songs, rare press clippings and sleeve notes overseen by guitarist Eric Faulkner.

- Totally re-mastered by Tim Turan

- Something of a `Holy Grail’ for Bay City Rollers collectors the world over and an integral part of our Rollers re-issue campaign

Absolutely brilliant...The Rollers at their best musically.
Should have done well but unfortunately no promotion from their record company.

Not really heard this one as was only originally available overseas, not one of their best but definitely recognizable as a rollers album

As explained in the sleeve note's,this 2nd of the 3rd album's recorded as The Rollers(i.e BCR minus Les)was compiled of various unreleased track's from various session's such as the previous l.p "Elevator",new singer Duncan's solo single's/former band Rabbitt, and "Midnight Special" t.v.This results in a rather disjointed album which isn't up to usual BCR standard's as it doesn't really gel together. There are more guitar's on this l.p and a few rather good solo's by Eric who wrote most of the song's here and on the follow-up album "Ricochet",by himself instead of with Woody as he did on most of the previous BCR l.p's which might explain why the song's aren't as good as the one's they wrote together. The "Rebel Rebel" song is the live version that appears on the "Budokan" cd and "Jig" is a violin instrumental. There's a song on here titled "85" which is ironic because that's the year their next great l.p (Breakout)came out. This album was originally only released in Germany/Japan as a means of getting out of their unsupportive record contract and is more for collector's only but despite being disappointed with the music i am glad that i bought it.

Danke,Cherry Red Records.

Having been a fan of the Bay City Rollers since they first released music on the American scene, I was disappointed when this cd and Ricochet were only available in Europe. I love the music on this cd and it brought back great memories. I would recommend this to anyone who loved the music of the 70's. Well worth the price!

    4.0 out of 5 stars
Reviewed in Japan on 5 February 2008

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally!

I've only been looking for this album since I was 12 years old (saw it in the record store back in the day, when I went back for it when I got my allowance, it was gone -- thought I'd imagined it for a while). Good to finally have a copy in my collection. It's not as good as the albums that preceded or followed it, but that is entirely Arista's fault, as they had no intention of promoting it, so the Rollers didn't put in much effort.

Songs of theirs that I'd never heard before. Thanks for making them accessible to all of us die-hard 'Rollermaniacs'.
