    If ever an album needed remastering (not to mention a release beyond Japan), "It's A Game" certainly qualifies. Hands down the best BCR album fronted by Les McKeown, "It's A Game" combines excellent musicianship, classic pop covers, and some of the best compositions to come from the in-house writing duo of Eric Faulkner and Stuart Wood. Best tracks here are Faulkner & Wood's hauntingly evocative "Don't Let The Music Die," the bewitching, guitar snarling "Love Fever," the lesbian (!) hooker epic "Sweet Virginia" and the pure joyous dance pop cover of the Sandpebbles' "Love Power" (love that Framptonesque wah-wah guitar!). Everything here is listenable and enjoyable, two slight shortcomings notwithstanding. One is the exclusion of the Sutherland Brothers' exquisite "The Pie" which appeared on the original Japanese release, and the other being the unnecessarily irrelevant psychedelic guitar puked all over Faulkner's cover of Bowie's "Rebel Rebel". Minor criticisms, though, that do not mar the Rollers finest hour as a pop band. Oh...and the remastering is sonically pure and perfect. Check out Faulkner's new set of demos available on his website for purchase and be witness to the fact we've been deprived of what would have been 25 additional years of new Roller music conceived and directed by his genius.

    'It's A Game' was the last BCRs album I bought at the time of release. This was a 1977 album and by this time my music taste was starting to change. The title track was a great single as were You Made Me Believe In Magic & The Way I feel Tonight. Listening to this today it's amazing how good it actually was. The musicianship is good and the vocals are excellant. The only drawback is the cover of 'Rebel Rebel' which is totally out of place and should never have made it out of the studio. They wrote better rock n roll songs themselves - Money Honey for example.

    This is definitely my favorite album from the guys. Wide variety in the music. Many well written songs. ESpecially like Sweet Virginia, and Rebel Rebel.Some of the songs are a little more edgy as well, with a more mature sound. A must for your collection!

    ライナーノーツに、このアルバムからカットされた、各国でのシングルジャケットが載っています。
    驚いたことに、１stシングルのIt's a gameのジャケットには、ちゃんとﾊﾟｯﾄも写っています。書き下しの新しい解説文にも、「SWEET VARGINIAの作曲にパットも参加」と書かれています。もし、パットが脱退せずに、アルバム発表して、全米ツアーしていたら・・・。
    歴史が変わっていたかも。でも　いいアルバムです。メンバーのピクチャーディスクです。
