- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 January 2018I had my eye on this watch for about 6 months - I visited various watch shops to look at it - to see if I could justify its high price. I can safely say it was worth every penny. I had some early misgivings about it - the size for one. I liked watches from Armani and Hugo Boss but their diameters at 42/43mm were way too big. This watch has a diameter of only 39mm but I have very small wrists so it was about the right size for me. My other gripe was the strap and its vertical links. I had generally only ever worn watches with normal horizontal links so the verticals ones looked a little odd to me. That soon disappeared when I had it on my wrist - it looks great!
The watch face looks amazing - roman numerals is something you don't really see anymore so it adds to its uniqueness. It has a perceptual calendar up to the year 2100 so it'll never lose track of the date. It was all set up to the correct date and time out of the box. This is also an eco-drive watch which is powered by light. It will never need a battery. The only slight negative that others have pointed out is that the watch face isn't as blue as it appears in the images - it's a really dark blue, almost black which is a shame. It's still a fantastic watch though.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 January 2015I purchased this from Amazon but returned it because the face is quite a darker blue than depicted on the photograph. It's all a matter of personal taste of course, but I thought that after the novelty of having a perpetual calendar has worn off, the watch does not exactly set the world alight with its looks. I did appreciate the intricacy of the dial with its silver sub dials and silver pointers but I found the combination of dark blue and silver a bit uninspiring. I have since obtained exactly the same calibre Citizen Eco Drive watch from another supplier in a different colour (white dial and black numerals). The instructions are not too difficult to follow if you are careful. It's possible to use this watch in the normal Time Mode where the second hand indicates, well, the seconds; or the Calendar mode in which the second hand just points at the month. I agree with some other reviews that say the watch is not too heavy and it's a nice size on the wrist.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2018Do not buy these watches if you live outside the UK you are not eligible for the extended 6 year warranty or indeed the 5 year warranty, this gimmick is used as a sales hook, but you only get a 1 year international warranty. This only becomes apparent when you try to register the watch at Citizen, after the purchase. Furthermore the software does not recognise Amazon as a valid retailer, so you cannot register for a guarantee anyway.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2013I am in no way a watch geek, but have real issues on selecting a watch that does what I want, looks stylish and is well made and within the price range I want to pay. Well, after 12 months reading review after review and looking up as much information as I could decided, on this model. Wow what a decision, although only had it for a few weeks I have had several comments about how nice the watch is, but more importantly I am delighted. The watch is easy enough to set up (I advise going to youtube and see some set up views). Reading the enclosed instructions can seem a bit daunting! The watch face transforms in different light conditiond from a midnight blue through to a standard blue the brighter the surroundings. It is quite chunky but in no way cumbersome, and doesn't feel any different on the wrist to my previous watch, which was more flimsy. All in all anyone looking for a watch in this price range with the features advertised - don't even hesitate. Absolutely stunning.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2014I agree with the 'Almost' perfect. I bought this (as a 'used' model, which means the box had been opened, and the manual creased, and the time set 12hrs wrong, and that's about it) to replace a Seiko kinetic, on which the supercap had died (and the seals were leaking). I like the perpetual calendar and the ecodrive. I dislike the rather-too-busy face (the 24 hours dial could just have been an AM/PM indicator, and I'm not a huge fan of Roman numerals) - a slightly larger date window would have been nice too.
There are also the two buttons which pierce the integrity of the case, but in normal timekeeping mode do absolutely zip .. maybe one could have been used to flip the second hand to the month display?
The main hands are used to set alarm time (the alarm being so quiet I'd never trust it unless I put the watch in my ear at night), and the movement between 'alarm time' and 'real time' (and maybe between time zones, which I haven't tried) is depressingly slow - limited by mechanics I assume. I'd rather have a 4th hand, or a separate dial (use that 24 hour dial .. I don't require sub-minute accuracy on alarm time).
The glass is 'mere' crystal, rather than synthetic sapphire, diamond, or whatever, but has not scratched so far. It's been out in the damp and not yet steamed up inside (eat your heart out Seiko).
Adjusting the strap is a £5 job at Timson's or similar, unless you have the right tool for the job.
This all sounds rather negative, but actually I like it a lot .. it could just have been slightly MORE perfect (if less blingy) with a few minor changes. For the price (about half RRP in my case) it was a snip .. not much more than getting the Seiko fixed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2016Watch was good, service was terrible. I sent it to their services dept as it stopped working and it was stolen/misdelivered. They handled this terribly and I will not be buying Citizen again, which is a shame as the actual watch was good.

AsjaReviewed in Germany on 10 December 20175.0 out of 5 stars Sehr schöne Uhr!!
B. Google.
LQReviewed in Canada on 5 August 20125.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous watch
Bought this watch in July as a gift to myself, and was obsessing over this watch for a few weeks prior. The biggest draw for Citizen is definitely the Eco Drive property of never having to put in new batteries, thus avoiding tampering. The watch came in two business days from Amazon.ca, and it came with everything shown in the images. It had a Citizen five year warranty, and instructions as well as a CD for easier time setup. The watch itself is absolutely stunning. The band, dial, colour, for me it was perfect.
I do however have two growing pains with it. It is a heavy watch, took some getting used to. It also, like many more 'luxurious' watches doesn't have a luminous button like digital watches or cheaper brands, but the hands will glow in the dark so that offsets that. Other than that, no damage thus far and it's beautiful. As a plus, I bought this watch at ~$380 CAN, only to notice it was being sold at $256 less than two weeks later. Amazon.ca refunded me the difference when I told them of this on chat support. Great watch, great customer service.

Amazon CustomerReviewed in Canada on 12 December 20165.0 out of 5 stars Great watch
I got this watch about a month ago and am very happy with it. Excellent time accuracy and great look.
Mark PReviewed in Canada on 15 October 20134.0 out of 5 stars Truly gorgeous timepiece.
This watch is truly magnificient to look at. Extremely well crafted and very stunning piece of work. Tons of features, including alarm, calender (with leapyear count), local time. 24 hour clock, day of the week and not to forget, TIME.
The Band is extremely comfortable, with an easy to undo clasp (but wont accidentally come undone). Fits perfectly, and isn't nightmarishly big on my wrists.
Con: setup and some of the advanced features uses isn't that user intuitive. Reading the manual is a must and some functions will likely be used very minimally because of it.
