The difference is pattern notcher is for pattern making it press as a small notch on the edge of your paper pattern, I brought one a while ago on amazon and it work very well. And Single hole punch you can use for pattern too , it makes small hole for convenience hooking and organizing your pattern, I recommend you the 2 in 1 notcher which you can use for both notch and hole punch, it is very useful and saves you time.
