About Yvette Bostic
I've been an avid reader for a few decades, enjoying many genre of books, but I find myself always turning back to fantasy novels. Don't get me wrong, I love a great murder mystery, but nothing draws one away from the chaos of real life like a good story about elves, trolls and magic.
While my first series doesn't have any elves, trolls or fairies, the second series does.
Light in the Darkness Series leads into The Sentinel and the Watcher Series. It follows the life of Darian; a young man drawn out of the Napoleonic Wars and into an epic battle against demon overlords and their fanatical cultists.
Call of the Elements is a current day urban fantasy about a young woman who spends her entire life rejected by everyone, until a vampire finds her. Her entire world is turned upside-down when she's forced to accept the supernatural world is real, and she's now part of it. A very important part.
What's coming next? More for AJ and the Call of the Elements. I also have two new series in the works - The Wolves' Challenge and the The Witches' Triad. Both new series are a spin off Call of the Elements but can be read separately.
I love to hear from my readers and can be reached on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or my website - YvetteBostic.com

All the roads I’ve traveled since I discovered magic have led to one place. Here I stand at the end, staring into a pit so dark it shouldn’t exist. At least I’m not alone. At least I have true allies and loyal friends, which is more than I ever expected.
The only question remaining - can we win or will everything I’ve sacrificed have been for nothing?
This is not the last book in the Call of the Elements series, but it does finalize the trials AJ endured in the first five books. Don’t miss out on the exciting conclusion to AJ’s first jaunt into the world of magic. Stay tuned for round two.
My life hasn’t been easy since the day magic fell in my lap. Between the mages, shifters, and vampires my entire world was turned upside-down. So, I expected drama when I went to the fae to learn how to control that part of my magic, but I got way more than I bargained for.
Yes, I learned the truth about so many things and very little of it was pretty. Now, I’m forced into yet another decision that will affect the fate of world. Should I follow my heart and stay with Braden to help him rebuild and protect his empire? Or should I join the fae civil war? The war to protect their realm from an evil that should only exist in my worst nightmare.
Eggs Benedict, please!
The fae – my people – agreed to take me in and teach me how to be one of them. Just like the vampires, the fae do nothing for free. Braden got me in the door, but the price to stay gets steeper every day.
Typical of my life, there are too many players in the game and none of them want to play nice. As each one shows their hand, I realize my elementals aren’t the only ones good at manipulating my future. The Woodland Fae want me to overthrow their queen. The Highland Fae want me dead. The Oceanic Fae want my secrets.
So where does that leave me? Balancing on the edge of a civil war and once again wondering who my allies really are.
When I’m forced to ally with Braden, the man I hate more than anyone else, I only do so out of desperation. But I couldn’t see a way to win without Braden’s help, especially once my father showed up. Another man who was supposed to love me but decided my death was better. As if nothing else could go wrong.
And where were my elementals in all of this? Weren’t they supposed to be keeping me from making stupid decisions? Decisions that could affect the outcome of the battle against a crazed vampire. They’re conspiring with an enemy I didn’t know existed.
In the midst of a literal whirlwind, I’m forced to choose between the life I want to keep and the one everyone else needs me to embrace. Can I put aside my selfish desires and sacrifice everything to protect the supernatural community? Maybe it won’t matter in the end.
Some wise idiot once said, “With great power comes great responsibility.” But what if I don’t want either one? Finding out I’m a dual elemental mage was hard enough, and I definitely don’t want the responsibility and political power that apparently comes with it. How am I supposed to stop a crazy vampire from outing the supernatural community I didn’t know existed until a few weeks ago? I have no idea, but my new partner and elementals seem to think I should have all the answers.
Every time we come up with a plan to keep peace in the supernatural world, something else just gets in the way. This time it’s an ogre and an elder vampire whose motives are beyond comprehension. I just hope I figure it out before the lunatic announces our magical presence to the world. Humanity will react the only way they know how: with violence.
Magic and nuclear weapons don’t mix, no matter how hard we stir.
Did I enjoy growing up rejected by everyone I encountered because of my physical abnormalities? Hell no! The only thing I ever wanted was to be accepted by someone. Not everyone, just anyone. A normal job and one solid meal a day would’ve been nice too.
You know that old saying, “Be careful what you wish for?”
Yeah, that really sucks.
After a vampire kidnapped me, I suddenly became wanted by all the wrong people. Why would those blood sucking fiends want a deformed, malnourished woman who looked more like a little girl? The elemental mage who stole me from the vampires and forced me into a role I wasn’t prepared for, didn't provide any explanations.
I thought I wanted to know the answers, but discovering the truth forced me into a fight for my life. One I wasn’t sure I could win.
Sara’s transition into the Council of Light ensured their victory against Zar’Asur, but she still has a lot to learn about the Council and their eternal enemies. She splits her time between training for her new role as Sentinel and building a home for the survivors suddenly flocking to her farm. Even her short exposure to the demonic armies leaves her worried about their next move.
Sara isn’t the only one forced to adjust to change. Darian finds himself struggling to let go of his leadership over the scouts he’s recruited and trained over the centuries. But his new commitment to the Watcher and Sentinel bond leaves him no choice. He must focus on changing his fighting style to compliment Sara’s, not hinder it. Darian knows the demons will retaliate, and he and Sara will need every advantage they can get to protect humanity.
The Council of Light isn’t prepared for the demons’ response: the emergence of the Overlords’ master. Darian and Sara are pushed to the extreme as they try to contain the demon master’s evil. This time, the price of victory is more than they can bear. Will the Council sacrifice everything to save humanity, or will they refuse to give up those they love?
Find out in the next installment of The Watcher and the Sentinel.
Sara, a homemaker and ex-Federal agent, watches in horror as civilization’s strongest and most capable governments fall to a series of rogue attacks. An unknown enemy has destroyed the world’s major cities using bombs laced with a devastating biological agent. The worst part? Her husband and daughter both die, upending Sara’s quiet life in rural Wyoming. Millions lose their lives, leaving Sara with only two options: Fight the enemy soldiers that will surely come for the survivors or hide and hope they pass her by.
The Council of Light discovers the evil mastermind behind the attack on the world’s largest cities, and it isn’t human. Their timeless battle against the Overlords and their demonic army has finally reached a breaking point. Darian, the Council’s Watcher, must now convince his Sentinel to take her place among the warriors fated to defeat the demons, a destiny she knows nothing about.
Will Sara have the courage to accept her destiny and save humanity, or will the demons finally take over the world?
Embrace the latest harrowing fight that started with the Light in the Darkness Series. While reading the first series isn’t mandatory, it’s certainly recommended so you can meet the characters and battle the Overlords with them from the beginning.
Loss has become a close companion for Darian and the Council, but it could not prepare them for the battle yet to come.
The Overlords enact the final step in their plan by imprisoning the Watcher and her Sentinel and crippling the Council's strength to fight back. With Eli and Juana out of the way, the Overlords are free to release their army of demons against humanity. With the major human governments under Overlord Kal'Gara's control, the Council is helpless to prevent the annihilation that is sure to come. Instead, they take the fight directly to the Overlords' strongholds, splitting their forces between Zar'Asur's Citadel and Kal'Gara's mountain fortress.
Will the Council find and release their Watcher and Sentinel in time to stop the coming battle? Will humanity become slaves to the demonic forces? Or will their lives continue with no knowledge of the battle being waged for them?
This is the final book in the Light in the Darkness Series.
As he flees from the grisly battlefield, he falls in with the only other survivor of the demon attack, a Portuguese army scout named Raphael. Together, they scramble to escape the dangers of an impenetrable jungle, the pursuing demons, and their masters, a shadowy group of cultists intent on destroying the world.
Exhausted and disoriented, Mikel and Raphael are drawn to a mysterious stranger. But his gifts come with a choice: accept their destiny to fight against the darkness or allow it to consume humanity.
Light's Dawn is a stand-alone prequel to the Light in the Darkness historical fantasy series.
