Fantastic quality for the money... Cant understand why previous customers said it was difficult to put together took about 2 hours and I am female with very limited DIY skills... Looks lovely plenty of storage... Love it ....

OK, I'll admit that I'm not God's gift to DIY, but I've assembled plenty of Ikea and Homebase units before and I cannot recall anything quite as awkward as this. The instructions are rather confusing, with tiny diagrams and numbered panels not matching the letters marked on the actual panels. Also don't make the mistake that I did and use the wrong (flat head) screws early in the assembly, only to find you are left with the wrong (same length but raised head) screws to attach the drawer sides. I couldn't face disassembling what I'd done, so a trip to my local hardware store to buy further screws was necessary.

Delivery was pretty quick - 4 days, but the box came slightly battered and one of the panels was chipped. Not bad enough to merit returning it though and, as this is supposed to have a vaguely rustic/distressed look, I suppose that's no big deal. The drawers are basic affairs using side-mount wooden sliders which would probably benefit from some waxing to improve movement.

I recommend you spend some time laying out all the parts and relabelling them with temporary sticky notes once you've matched them up with the instructions. Then allow around 4 hours or so for assembly. An electric screwdriver is a good investment here, although be aware that several screws need to go into small recessed holes, so a small, manual screwdriver will be required too.

Overall, the finished product doesn't look bad and,at under a ton, represents undeniably decent value for money for solid wood furniture, rather than veneer. Unless you're a competent DIYer though, you may want to pay a bit more for something ready-assembled.

Got this to match our other Mexican pine, thinking it would be the same. It looks great but we had to plane pieces of wood as they didn't fit, some pieces were a little rough and splintery and it just wasn't as solid as our other furniture from a different seller. It's also a bit yellowy but we can wax it to match our other. There are gaps around the door and draws... But it still is value for money, think we just got very good quality before, so a bit disappointed. If we hadn't fixed it together ourselves we wouldn't have noticed as much because once up it looks OK. Worth the money and a great space saver... Oh and the screws and fittings were not labelled, but because we had fitted similar we were able to work it out.

I am quite handy when it comes to these things and it took me about 2-3 hours to assemble - but it looks great! the wood is quite soft so be careful of this when assembling. I accidentally left a screw on the surface i was working and placed the top of the unit on to it and it left a mark. I also found it impossible to get all the pegs of the front frame to line up correctly with the rest of the unit. I ended up having to remove the pegs from the centre part and then managed to get it to fit. Since there are many screws to secure the unit, the pegs i didn't use didn't make a difference. Its great value and looks more expensive than it is. Fits perfectly with my room and is not intrusive at all! would recommend it, but just make sure you set aside some good time to put it together ( maybe a few hours over two days). A tip; when using a hammer to put in the 4 black pins, make sure you use a piece of card or something so that you don't use your hammer directly on the pin which can damage it.

As I had already put together the TV unit the assembling for this was pretty straight forward again. It too compliments the living room for a fraction of the cost of buying from shops.

I nave been doing DIY projects for 45 years and this item has to be the worst nightmare I have ever dealt with.Pilot holes in the wrong place, no pilot holes for screws where they should be, really bad diagrams of pieces which make you wonder if you received the right package. No guidance whatever of what way round major pieces should be assembled.Only my extensive experience saved me from tossing this into the street !I had to rearrange every large item to decide what fitted where and eventually I got there, no thanks to the manufacturer. All necessary pilot holes I had to drill myself. If this is your 1st effort at self-assembly furniture, avoid it like poison. You will NOT be able to do it.These guys need to reassess what they are unleashing on an unsuspecting public !

This sideboard is really nice when put together but took me and my boyfriend from 10:30 till 9pm to finish it that is with a few breaks and we have put a lot of things together but this as so far definitely been the hardest. The instructions aren't that easy to follow and took an hour just to organise the pieces of wood into sections. We were missing a part that held the shelf in place so had to find something else to put there instead and two of the pieces of wood didn't have the dowel and screw holes in the right place one had no holes and we had to it ourselves which confused us for ages so overall I'd say difficult to put together instructions are not clear parts were missing (nothing major) wood not prepared correctly but once assembled looks really good and really happy with it.
