This CD covers quite a narrow period of Andys work and is Jazz heavy, which is not surprising as I think he comes from a Jazz background, as did Sting. There are no real stand out tracks and the mood is generally easy going. It reminds me of Brand X although not as lazy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Andy Summers X files 14 Jan. 2008

Album is Ok for a jazz release. Did not like the Jeff Beck song that was changed to a poor street boys rap song, but other than that it was OK
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Andy Sumers Compilation 11 Aug. 2014
By Hunyadi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
A good compilation of some great songs from Andy Summers. Blends of rock and jazz fusion not new to the Summers fan. “Big Thing” (though a different version from Charming Snakes Album) opens the album strong and finishes strong with “Earth and Sky.” In between is “’Round Midnight” with Sting on vocals and jazzier pieces like “The Diva Station” where Summers gives an outstanding guitar performance. “Three Marias” is great jazz piece with great synergy from all the musicians! High recommended for jazz guitar and Any Summers fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation 7 Jun. 2006
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a really good compilation of some of Andy Summers' solo work. Every song is strong and shows his brilliant playing. Many people don't know how innovative Andy Summers is.

The opener "Big Thing" and "Think of One" are highlights for me. "Think of One" is unlike anything I have heard before and inspired me in my own guitar playing and writing.

For those only familiar with Andy's work with The Police, you should know that his guitar work here is outstanding, but it is more progressive and has some jazz leanings.

Highly recommended.
