I bought this album purely out of curiosity; I wanted to see if the reviews were right - and let me assure you, they are. As many other reviewers have stated, Bif has girl power. At first, this brought back nightmarish memories of the Spice Girls as I read the reviews, now that I have the CD, I can properly apprecciate what they meant. Bif is as far from the Spice Girls as you can get - she does sing about relationships, but not in the fluffy way they used to. Bif's songs fluctuate between strong, self-assured proclamations (i.e., "I love myself today") and more fragile pieces where vunerability echoes in her lyrics (i.e., Stolen sidewalk"). Yet, whether the songs are up-tempo or slow, Bif's lyrics always have insistency and they are always powerful.
Personally, my favourites are:-
"Stolen sidewalk" - this is a beautiful song, absolutely crammed with emotion.
"October song" - slightly more upbeat than the previous one but it is still about needing someone and the desire to be loved by someone.
"You are the master" - a song I think virtually everyone could identify with. It's about being in a relationship when all you do is try to please the other person. It is a relationship with difference in power. Because of this, instead of being about love and loyalty, it is closer to being about obsession.
An absolutely brilliant CD - Bif is honest about her experiences and her emotions; she really is baring her soul to her listeners. Buy this CD if you like rock music, even if you just apprecciate good music.

The only Bif Naked song I had heard was 'Lucky', like so many others, on the Buffy soundtrack. It wasn't my favourite song from all of the great music on BtVS but I liked the clips and costomer reviews were good so I decided to buy it. I buy a lot of CDs and this was definently one of my favourites. If you liked 'Lucky' then you will most likely like this album, if you didn't then I think you still will. I didn't like all the songs on the album but the ones I did like definently made up for it. My favourites were 'October Song', 'Religion' and 'Stolen Sidewalk'.

I got into Bif through her work and music via the SSX series and ended up getting this album.

What you've got here is a pop punk record, with a quirky attitude that helps distinguish itself from the pack. There's a bit of 'girl power' running through most of Bif's albums, but not in the forced sense that we probably associate such a term. Bif is a strong individual, and as such her music reflects that.

Despite being a pop punk record, there are some stripped down, sombre, reflective tracks. Each song appears to have some proper meaning, avoiding the general "LET'S PARTY ALL NIGHT" and "LET'S DESTROY THAT THERE GOVERNMENT" that seems to plague most punk these days.

There's some good feel good tracks too, "I Love Myself Today" being the obvious one. It'll be your anthem on a good day, believe me.

It is always hard to follow up on a strong album and this proves the point. It is good but didn't quite take me to the same place that I Bificus did. As always with Bif it is sometimes her most intimate moments that grab you and Stolen Sidewalk proves that point. Sad but sing along. The album really pivots on the song that was co-written with some other top songwriters, I Love Myself Today; and this for me sets the standard for this piece if not the style. I liked the more reflective moments and the almost underplayed songs that feature towards the back of the disc. Bifs stamp is all over this one, and that makes it a good listen whether driving in your car or sitting listening to music in a room.

Having bought this Cd when I went to America after reading about it on here I realised what a great one it was. Every song is brilliant and has something that everyone feels at one time or another. Unlike the other reviewers I prefer the more upbeat ones and there are some gret floor shakers! Better than any other artist I have heard and every song is just filled to the brim with emotion. I just wish her other cds weren't so hard to get, I don't know if I could wait six weeks! Definately buy this one though.
