Product description

Product Description

Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed and fan adored sophomore release Cauterize, Tremonti returns with the companion album Dust. The album, which was recorded during same sessions as Cauterize, features Mark Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars, Wolfgang Van Halen on bass and Garrett Whitlock on drums. Long-time friend and collaborator, Michael "Elvis" Baskette, produced Dust. From the first riffs of album opener "My Last Mistake" to the final notes of the closer "Unable To See," it is apparent that Dust is not a collection of B-sides or leftover material. These ten new tracks continue to showcase Mark's hard rock/heavy metal influences alongside the material from Cauterize. Songs like "Once Dead," "Betray Me" and "Rising Storm" hold their own place as weapons in Tremonti's musical arsenal.

Since listening to Cauterize last year, its safe to say the benchmark has been raised even higher this time. Fast, hard hitting melodies which are really catchy and get into your head. Powerful vocals and savage guitar work. A stunning release by Tremonti and co, which will echo for a veeery long time.

Hold on to your ears because Dust is going to blow them clean off your head!!
Recorded and produced at the same time as Cauterize, Tremonti held off on the release of Dust and it is worth the wait.

Just check out its rank on Amazon and it will tell you everything you need to know. After just a few days since its release it's at number 2 in Rock. Wow, Mark. Wow. I discovered his music by accident last year as I discovered Alter Bridge and I must say, I keep waiting for more from him. First of all, he's a guitar genius. Second, the voice! He doesn't need autotune, he always sounds amazing and there are so many shades to his rasp that it just blows me away. Third, the sound and the lyrics are simply great, you can't deny him talent in an aspect of music-making. And the quality is top notch, always. If you're buying this album, you might as well buy all three, you won't be disappointed. I can't imagine he could get any better. I just wish he'd release more than only 10 tracks on each album. Always makes me crave more after the first listen. What more can I add? That I should finally go to see him in concert? If only to hear 'Unable to see' - the ultimate concert song that will bring tears to the eyes of thousands of fans, no doubt about that. Thank you, Tremonti.

Wow.

As other reviewers pointed out, Tremonti has raised the bar AGAIN.

When 2012's All I Was came out, it dropped like an A-Bomb. Heavy Music with Melody. With emphasis on the Heavy. And some simply awesome Riffs and stunning guitar work. Like Alter Bridge on double-bass drum Steroids, it was amazing and remains one of my favorite ever Albums.

Re-wind 10 months or so, Cauterize. An album i so wanted to love! I told myself i did, and sure, "Radical Change" "Another Heart" and "Cauterize" are up there with the best tracks off of All I Was. But in hindsight, while still being a good album, its a bit of a moody, colorless, serious, plodding affair. Its all relative.

Dust couldn't be further from that in terms of mood. It feels "Up" somehow. The songwriting feels more natural, and more fun. I don't know whether this was intentional, but if it was, i think it was genius from Mark. A look at the difference in colors of the album covers of Cauterize and Dust might suggest this too.

"The Cage" is a great up tempo song with an awesome verse riff. "Once Dead" almost re-captures the simple brutality of "Wish You Well" and has maintains a great sense of melody in the chorus. "Dust" in Marks opinion, is the strongest track off both albums and its hard to disagree unless you are a headbanger by trade. "Tore My Heart Out" does a much better job of combining heaviness with atmosphere than "Dark Trip" "Fall Again" and Providence" from Cauterize, with some great vocal melodies and heavy hitting riff/drum attacks.

Another reviewer said somewhere on here that Mark wrote all the songs for Cauterize and Dust at the same time and just waited to release Dust. Well I can believe that and I also believe that he basically put the best songs from that lot on Cauterize and the rest on Dust. I really like both his previous solo albums and most of Creed and Alter Bridge but this is filler at best. I think you have to be a hardcore Tremonti fan to even begin to like this average crop of songs.

Tremonti goes from strength to strength with everything he does. Here on his own with his new band he is in an element completely separate from Alter Bridge and Creed. And the combination of Cauterize and Dust is absolutely perfect. I now look forward to Any and all the joy that will bring to my ears. Favourite tracks probably the title track. But then when I start to think about the other tracks they all become favourite tracks to. It's just a perfectly seamless effort from start to finish. Everything an album should be. More please!!!! 😀 😀 😀 x

Cauterize was not so perfect (in my view) but this one is back to the top level Mark had reached with his first solo album. ALl songs are catchy, the band is solid, Mark is imperial on guitar and also vocals. If Myles does not wake up soon, Mark should just call the other two guys and do an Alter
Bridge album, it would not be a bad thing.
Anyway - Mark is one of the best guys on the rock scene today, this is a must have album.
