As I took the top off to install some batteries, I noticed that there was dust on the inside, I'm unsure if the product was previously used or if it's just dust gathered from being stored. The outside was somewhat pretty clean, but did look a bit scratched up.
I installed the batteries (not provided), went to insert a 50p and nothing happened. Attempted to put a £2 coin and it counted it as a 10p coin, sometimes even as a 50p.
Only good thing that I can say about the product is that it arrived sooner than expected.
On the box it says it needs 2 AAA batteries but once battery compartment opened it tells you, you need 2 AA batteries not triple A or AAA.
Works well but does have a little trouble noticing coins at times over all not a good item just doesn't work like it should but it could just be mine but I will keep trying it but so far not a great buy.
The counter is not counting properly, it counts the 2p and 50p coins as 10p coins so its not accurate.
Basically i've spent 8.20 quid, 1.80 quid short of a tenna, if you know what i mean, for this chinese engineering marvel, the people selling it should thrown in a pit full of legos from a 50ft height.
Don't be like me, don't buy it.
ultra poor quality design and packing box smells like strong fish for some reason ?
sent back, So glad i checked before giving it as a present
The space that holds the batteries is not holding the batteries. When you remove the lid from the jar and press the battery holder it works perfectly but once you replace it on the lid the light goes out.
This might be a one-off dud.
I hope so as it will stop the countless little piles of change littering my kitchen.

I am disappointed with this item, it doesn't always register the coins, which means you don't have an accurate total of how much you are saving.Published 7 days ago by margaret nicol
