They're not quite premium (Marshall Major BT https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R3CED4MQ8W7SV5/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm or Marshall Mid BT https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R1XOGV7R8HGI00/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm ) costing about half as much as similar in class, and they're not quite cheap (MPOW Review https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2CKREX798748F/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B06Y1NXBHP ) costing about twice as much as similar in class
And that's the problem really - they don't really offer anything that much better than a decent set of cheaper 'phones and certainly nowhere near the premium cans, so they're just kind of .... meh
I purchased these headphones at £29.99 & they look great, sound great perfect for gym , commuting or just at home. The handsfree is not great if you are out and about but at home with no background noise fine.
Very happy customer!
I currently use the "legendary" Sony MDR XB700 as over ears. I use HiSound Woouduo2s as in ears. Both are treats for those of us that love sub-bass. Neither are punchy kick-bass specialists, I find punchy response breaks into the vocals if there's too much lift at 100-150Hz (warm, muddy). I absolutely love Chillstep which often contains programming down to 20Hz and sometimes even lower which needs serious lift to hear, and with the XBs, given enough drive, rumble the pads to give a visceral feeling to supplement the aural experience.
So what does this mean for the KS Clash Evos? In a nutshell, they are the Bluetooth equivalent of my other headgear. I'm pretty blown away to be be honest. Fed with high quality samples they're brilliant. The sub bass is brilliant, but they have also have a real punch too. And for closed design they have a startling "openness" or "airiness", and very wide soundfield to boot. I've also tested several pure grand piano tracks for clean tone experiences and, of course, complex chords and it's been a genuinely emotional experience! I'm quite blown away. I will say I've "only" owned cheaper Sennheiser, Portapros, several medium priced £50-£100 Sonys and Philips headphones as a reference, so read into it what you will.
Build feels very sturdy so far, and I went full retro and chose light grey which probably only look retro 80s cool to me, but I don't care.
You can listen over Bluetooth whilst charging which is a real bonus. I haven't yet sampled wired sound but with 10+ hours and charging whilst playing, not likely to use it except if away from charging opportunity whilst on holiday etc. I did buy it for Bluetooth after all, but it's my favourite regardless of the mechanics of signal supply.
The included Case is superb to chuck in a bag and not fear for your precious investment. And the manual covers the essentials clearly.
The controls are ergonomic and feel nice to use and work flawlessly with my iPhone 5s.
They are very comfy with strong pressure on the outer ears spread evenly across the plush pleather pads. Isolation is very good (closed back) and therefore leakage is also next to nothing.
Conclusion: I have a new benchmark of musical love, and will now be "forced" to spend weeks and months going through my back catalogue and loving my tunes all over again. It's also increased my utter respect for Kitsound, from whom I'm still loving their epic Boomdock. Magical.
The headphones come in 4 great colours to choose from, red, grey, black and blue, but in the end i chose the blue and didnt regret it once i received them. The blue stands out without being neon, and has a really nice brushed aluminium finish on the outside of the earcup. The actual earcup and inside of the headphones is black which is perfect to stop them getting dirty.
The swivelling earcups mean that you can adjust the headphones to the perfect position, and you can adjust the headband too. The earcups are probably the softest and most comfortable i have had, i struggle with overears being too tight and so im unable to wear them for long perioids of time, but with these this is not the case.
I use these headphones with my iPod and iPad, the pairing function is perfect, and takes seconds to set up. On the outside of the earcups you have play/pause, and track skipping buttons meaning you dont even have to take your device out of your pocket, this might be especially useful for anyone that likes to wear overears during exercise.
The headphones also come with a really nice carry case, it is solid so that if you have it in your luggage/bag you know they are protected. The headphones fold away to make them more compact which is a nice added feature.
As well as looking great, these headphones also sound great, there is no distortion when you are listening to music at a very high volume, and the sound is crisp and clear for all types of music.
Overall for £75 you cannot go wrong with these, i have a few KitSound products now and would recommend them to anyone for the price and the quality.
