Product description

Product Description

Steve Hackett was a member of the classic Genesis line up in the seventies. He joined the band in 1970 and his complex and distinctive guitar playing was an integral part of their success on albums such as Foxtrot , The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and A Trick Of The Tail . He released his first solo album, Voyage Of The Acolyte , in 1975 while still a member of the band before going completely solo in 1977. He has gone on to release numerous solo albums covering the whole spectrum from rock to classical. Once Above A Time was filmed in Budapest, Hungary in April 2004 on the tour for Steve Hackett s 2003 album To Watch The Storms . It combines songs from across his career both as a solo artist and with Genesis.

Fantastic DVD - Great set-list, great musicianship, great production, great quality. The show was promoting 'To Watch The Storms' so contains plenty of tracks from that excellent album (one of Steve's best in my opinion). Track 13 'If You Can't Find Heaven' later turned up as the opening track on the 'Wild Orchids' album under the different name of 'A Dark Night in Toytown' (simply a different line in the song).

The best-filmed concert video of Steve's solo career. I feel that Roger King is a big asset to the touring band and I'm getting used to Gary O'Toole's vocals on Blood On The Rooftops.

If You Can't Find Heaven eventually turned up on the rather patchy Wild Orchids album under a different title. Not that I'm knocking the track -it's brilliant! The aforementioned Mechanical Bride induces migraines with its visuals.
