5.0 out of 5 stars "...Fast Pony, adopted son of Many Horses" 29 July 2013
By Cheryl Stout - Published on Amazon.com

I love romances about mail-order brides and Kate in "Summer Moon" is one of my favorite characters in this sub-genre of novel. I read this tale when it first came out and just re-read it again.

As it travels from Maine down to Texas, this book has it all - tears, laughter, romance, spiciness. The characters touched my heart and made me wish I knew (almost) all of them.

Kate, the heroine, is strong and brave and compassionate. All she wants is someone to love and to love her, a home of her own, and children. Reed, the hero, is a Texas Ranger, wounded - both physically and by circumstances - but works at healing himself. Daniel, Reed's son, is a boy after my own heart.

I love this story and I'm sure I will read it again in the future, probably more than once. Landis did a great job with this fast-paced romance. Wonderful, well-drawn characters, true-to-life dialogue and a story that will make you laugh and cry and all points in between.

I like that it has an epilogue, too, so we get to find out what happens to the characters in the future.

All she ever dreamed of was finally coming true. After years of having no family and no close friends it was getting close to belonging to her! UNTIL.....she learns everything she had learned about her husband by proxy was a lie. The man to whom she thought was her husband knows nothing about her.

I just finished reading this book and I really enjoyed it. I have read a few of Jill Marie Landis's books and plan on reading more of them. Her style of writing reminds me of Francine Rivers, who is my favorite author.
