The first half is very engrossing, even though Anthony Kiedis clearly had a very dysfunctional childhood he looks back on this with fondness, this is definitely not a misery memoir!
I felt the second half seemed to drag a bit, as Anthony was in a cycle of bad relationships /drugs /rehab. While it was a good insight into the mind of an addict, it did get repetitive, and the book became more about Anthony's addiction than the music (personally I would have liked more insights about his lyrics, the relationships between band members etc).
Also, a minor niggle, but I wished the photos in the book had been placed in a chronological order!
All in all, this was a good read, and perhaps will appeal more to people who like the band more. However I have read much more entertaining music autobiographies which dealt with similar issues in a more interesting way.

I was disappointed with this book for me there was too much sex and drugs and not enough rock and roll. I feel more could have been said about the songs and music.Published 1 month ago by Jo
