This is a really good, fun book about the solar system. it's ideal for a child who already knows about the solar system, and wants a fun book to add to their collection. my son, age 5, didn't quite 'get' the humour - for example, there are "comments" from people who have visited saturn, walked on Venus, flown into the sun etc. it's obviously just for fun and the comments are made up to be funny, which they are, but my son just didn't grasp that it was pretend, and no one has really walked on the sun! So that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars, because a young child, or one who knows little about the solar system, would easily mistake the 'comments' for facts, and believe that people really have been to Pluto etc.

What a wonderful idea and way of getting children to learn and remember facts about our solar system.
The illustrations and planet details will encourage any child to ask questions and want to learn more about outer space.
This book, by Astrobiologist Lewis Dartnell, would be a fantastic addition to any childs library.

For the older reader interested in Astrobiology, Lewis Dartnell has also written 'A Beginner's Guide to Astrobiology.
