Panic and anxiety cause a person to take their feelings VERY seriously and ultimately become a slave to some of the reactions that their feelings and thoughts cause. I wasn't keen to read this book when I saw that it was a subject depicted by captions and cartoons...thought it might trivialise and over simplify a very real and troublesome problem. However, I bought the book out of interest and am so glad that I did. After reading the book and enjoying the cartoons I actually understood the panic and anxiety cycle a lot better and found myself laughing out loud at some of the cartoons - because they depicted my behaviour, in many ways, completely! There is a particularly funny cartoon of a person thinking that they might faint and make an ass out of them self in front of everyone...and there was a worried looking person laying on the floor having done just that - fainted (not at all common with panic, I hasten to add but a real fear) I found this and so many of the illustrations very amusing and it helped put my own behaviour pattern into context...it kind of took the fear of fear away. I highly recommend this well written little book. It's great to did Into in times of need. You will love it.

Anyone suffering from an anxiety state or panic attacks will find great comfort in this book. You are NOT alone, and you can overcome it. This book is very easy to read - a must for someone suffering the reduced concentration associated with an anxiety state - and in easy terms explains what's happening and how to help yourself through it. I have two copies in my waiting room and regularly lend them out to patients, all of whom find it helpful

A friend recommended this book for my daughter who suffers with Panic Attacks which have increased of late due to the stress of exams etc. I myself suffer with Anxiety but I too found this Guide helpful.

It's a quick read as a lot of the book is taken up with illustrations (the author is an Illustrator) but the illustrations are amusing as 'IT' is depicted as a dragon type character. I did find it amusing, as did my daughter. It's nice to be able to laugh in the face of panic/anxiety. I would definitely recommend this book for children as it gives a simple understanding of the problem and simple ways to deal with panic attacks.
