Refreshingly honest account of one of football's genuinely rare fairytale stories. I'm not a Leicester fan but buy into the Vardy story because it's one that gives hope to anyone who ever kicked a football and dreamed of being a top player. Well written and keeps you turning every page. It's Billy Elliott with boots. Loved it.

Many football fans, and not just followers of Leicester City, have been eagerly awaiting this autobiography for months. They will not be disappointed by its contents.

Although the broad outline of Vardy's journey from factory worker in Sheffield to Footballer Of The Year and Premier League title winner is well known, the numerous ups and downs he endured in the course of that journey are not. This book represents a wish to enlighten, as well as enthrall. It succeeds on both counts.

Vardy's story transcends football - and indeed, sport. It symbolises a triumph of human spirit, a willingness to nurture, cherish and pursue dreams until they are finally realised.

The author is far from a saint, but acknowledges his past mistakes with a candour and humility which many others in current British public life would do well to learn from and copy.

Here is a tale that deserves to be told, and read.

I don't normally finish reading a book in a week as I lose interest easily. This book, however, was different and honest.
I'd highly recommend buying it. By the way....We know what we are, we know what we are, Champions of England, we know what we are ....

To be honest, I could have found most the information in the book on google, the most interesting part was probably the fact non of the leicester squad liked esteban cambiasso. To be honest not really worth the read.

An absolutely superb story, an honest account of a modern football fairytale warts and all that probably most fans today never thought they would see happen?
His rise is meteoric over such a short space of time, it really is a present day tale of Roy of the Rovers!
Regardless of if you Love Leicester or not, and regerdless of if you Love or Loath Mr. Vardy, it's a compelling read start to finish and for anyone who has ever pulled on a pair of boots in their life, I garuntee by the end of the book you'll definitely love his candidly told tale! The stuff dreams! Let's hope his new academy can give aspiring young lads a new avenue into the game in the future!
Uplifting and refreshing to say the least!

I am not a Leicester fan but thoroughly enjoyed this warts and all story. The folk who have been negative and complained that it was just series of events should realise that these events ARE a story. This was not a book of over indulged, overpaid prime dona but an almost rags to riches (in footballing terms) story of a guy who probably still pinches himself that this is not a dream!
