Product description

Review

I believe this is a good book, and if medical students knew everything in this book their anatomy foundations would be sound.

The New Zealand Medical Journal Volume 118

A wonderful book, very appropriate, written with extremely good didactic and smart illustrations! Clinical anatomy at its best!

Dr Ludmilla Stane, Institute for Anatomy, Dusseldorf

Well laid out, clear illustrations...useful clinical examples.

Wendy Smith, University of Huddersfield

Format: Paperback
I have read the musculoskeletal system (Part3,4 & 5) - and found it to be very useful. There are illustrations and line diagrams, in addition to dissections to a lesser extent). THere are MCQs for revision at the end of each chapter. It covers the salient clinically important areas and also includes radiology, when appropriate. Wonder when the next edition is due!

I bought this book for my 1st year medical course. There are much better books out there, and this one hardly leaves my shelf, and it's not even big enough to use as a door wedge!
The diagrams are very nice, but often you cant tell what part it is actually showing due to the fact they have zoomed in too far.
The text has a habit of not refering to the diagrams, or something being mentioned in the text and then not being labelled in the diagram, and visa versa. Wish i'd bought moore or grays as these are the ones i have to keep borrowing from the library!!
Most of my friends are just as annoyed as me at being recommended this book at the start, and the lectures now don't even refer to it!!

I am a first year medical student at Glasgow University. I bought this book thinking it would be a good book for anatomy revision. I was very wrong, comapred to three other anatomy books i own, this is very poor. The book lacks a lot of detail even for someone at my stage in medicine i found it insufficient, there are far better introductory books out there. A month after buying it i stopped using it.
