This is one for a VERY niche market...THOSE who live, or have lived, in Du Cane Court, on Balham High Road, SW LONDON......I did, a lifetime ago, and it brought back many memories, as I was one of the first younger people to move in, in the early 1980's, and still meet some of the old characters, who lived there....Will NEVER forget Miss Levy, sitting in reception, with her alarm clock and a cigarette ALWAYS on the go......

Witty and entertaining history of a quirky South London apartment block that allegedly even Hitler had his eye on as a strategic base in the U.K.
Thoroughly researched and very readable. Highly recommended for the coffee table or bedtime reading!

This book gives a very interesting history of an apartment block in South London. A good read for people interested in Architecture and the characters described in the book add value to a very interesting subject. Highly recommend this book.
