Jig has to deal with two malevolent princes and a dragon. He has fight against the pixie infection, and though he doesn't realize it, the goblins are beginning to respect and look up to him. Trouble comes their way when the goblin's lair is invaded by the prince and princess whose brother bled is in the goblin's lair.
The book can be read as a stand-alone piece; however, reading the previous two books is advisable. A good third book that ends the series on a high note - an utterly charismatic delight, which younglings as well old-lings will love.
Another excellent offering from Philip and thus highly recommended for an age range of 7 to 47.
The plot is too twisty and turny to precis here - and anyway, I don't want to give any spoilers.
Just to say that the story is fast paced, laugh out loud funny and full of rich invention - with a very satisfying ending.
For me, the Goblins series is a funny, fresh and modern take on the lands of myths and legends, with none of the usual stereotyping of creatures. I do so very much hope there will be another in the series.
You don't need to have read the first two Goblin books to enjoy this one - but I think it adds to the adventure if you do... and they are both excellent anyway.
Initially Goblins was a single book, then it was touted as a trilogy. This third book makes me hope that there will be further Goblin adventures very soon.

This book makes goblins down right endearing. Philip Reeve shows readers that friendships can come in many shapes and sizes.Published 19 months ago by T. Hide
Haven't actually got to this one yet but if anything like the first two in the series it will be a joy. Love Philip Reeve and after Bartimeus this is his best. Read morePublished on 23 Feb. 2015 by The astonished librarian
