Used in conjunction with a more "comprehensive" textbook this is a good piece of supplementary material. Either read first to get 'the gist', or read after to compliment and supplement the core reading. Quite accessible and logically set out. Highly recommended.

The best thing that can be said about this book is that it is concise; unfortunately that is where the compliments end. The organisation, chapter headings and general layout of the book are poor and take much about the knowledge of the person reading it for granted. It seems to try a be a middle way between the 'big books'(Tritel et al) and the lower level texts, unfortunately it fails to do either with some sections being simple to the point of making little sense without further reference and other being complex where there is little or no need to be. If you're looking for an introductory contract law book this is not it, if you have some prior knowledge of contract law this might be worth a quick look otherwise give it a miss!

Not well laid out at all, expects the reader to already have a knowledge of contract law as doesn't explain anything from a basic and introductory level. Avoid!

We've been given three books to choose from for contract law: the one written by Jill Poule, contract law directions and this one. This was the best in my view. It is very cleary written, it is also complete and relatively short at the same time. Very nice exercises as well. McKendrick is the best! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who starts studying contract law.

Very clear and concise it is not so simple that it would be considered a nutshell but does not drone on about irrelevant discussions on contract law. A must have for the contract law student
