"Ever wish your your alphabet soup was actually legible? Your fruit salad arranged into rows? Maybe not, but there's something undeniably pleasing about The Art of Clean Up, a photo book by Swiss comedian and visual artist Ursus Wherli. Wherli spent two years putting everyday objects - flower, cars in a parking lot, needles from a pine bough - into meticulous order and then photographing them." - Janine Rayford, People --People
"What sets Wherli's book apart and maybe even above is innovativeness and the combination of sheer scale (we're looking at groups of people and entire car parks arranged by colour)and the before/after set-up. If only we all had the time, right?" --Dazed Digital
"Wehrli has gone to great lengths to create a world where the primary objective is neatness and it is one that I could quite happily live in." --Humans Invent
About the Author
Ursus Wehrli is a left-handed, broad-thinking, professional typographer. His first book, Tidying Up Art, is a visionary manifesto that took well-known artworks and put them back together in his more rational, more organized, and cleaner form of modern art. In this book, The Art of Clean Up, Wehrli extended his discerning eye into the physical world to tidy up common daily situations. He is currently working on sorting things that are normally too big to organise.
