With a simple and easy installation (Manual Included) you can create a fully controllable lighting system when used with the Mi-Light bulbs, you just pair your bulbs with the Wifi controller, download the app to your smart device for free and start using it to change the colour of the bulbs, the brightness, set up different modes, or just simply turn them on or off, from anywhere in the world with an internet connection!
Each Wifi controller has 4 "Zones" which can each control an unlimited number of bulbs paired to them. A Zone can be assigned to an area of your home, place of work etc. and every bulb in that Zone can be controlled all together. The Wifi controller is essential if you want to control your Mi-Light bulbs using a smart device, alternatively the Mi-Light Remote can be used instead, which doesn't require the use of the Wifi Controller to work.
The Mi-Light Wifi Controller is also small and compact, so can be discreetly placed in your home without looking out of place, but with its white, glossy modern design it really can be placed anywhere.

Then had to reset the hub, once reset I reconnected to its temp wifi SSID, then added my wifi to it.
Never set up properly again, could only connect directly to the hub by its own wifi which pretty much makes the item useless.
Trying the more stable LimitlessLED v5.0 hub instead as herd it's miles better than this piece of plastic.
Reading other reviews I was expecting a bad setup experience, but I followed the pairing process of the instruction manual and it all went smoothly and I was setup within 10 minutes.
This controller box allows you to have any number of lights across 4 groups, so you could have 2 bulbs on 1 group for the bedroom and then 3 on group 2 for the living room and so on.
The only issue I have with these is that when you put multiple bulbs in one group i.e. 3 in group 2 for the living room, all 3 lights can only be the same colour. If you want the 3 lights to be separate colours, you would have to put 3 lights across 3 groups, but then that leaves you with one group left, meaning you need to buy more of these controller boxes.
I do not have an issue with this, simply because of the price, I am willing to work around this and use multiple controller boxes.
The box can be connected to a USB port to power the device, I tried USB 3.0 and a USB mains socket and both powered the device fine.
You can download the basic app from the IOS store and there are also some other 3rd party apps which allow advanced functionality such as; the lights can turn on when you pull up on your drive or you walk through the front door, these apps use geolocation with your wifi to allow this. These third party apps can also do timers, etc.
All in all I will continue to use these as my smart lighting solution and have ordered an extra batch of bulbs already, I will also be needing more of these controller boxes too.
I have a virgin Superhub 2 router. I have 2 iPads 2 PCs (wired connected), three mobile phones and Xbox one, PS2, Amazon Fire TV connected on Wi-Fi with this router, my broadband is 60 mg and I haven't had any problems with any of these items.
I don't believe for one second that my hub or any of its security is causing a problem with Easybulb set that I have brought.
My-light app finds my wifi straight away when starting the app the problem lies when I plug-in the Wi-Fi box Controler to a power source and press the sync button, nothing happens except a failed connection message on the app. This has happened for almost 2 days that I have been trying to get this equipment to work but without any success, i've tried calling Easybulb telephone Help line: 01612209729 many times and it just rings and rings without anybody answering, i've also watched all the relevant videos on Easybulb website many times making sure that I am not doing anything wrong.
SO PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR DON'T WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME ON ANY OF EASYBULB PRODUCTS, ITS ALL JUNK AND DOES NOT WORK, AND WHEN YOU HAVE WASTED DAYS OF YOUR LIFE TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK AND IT DOESNT, THEY WONT GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK, IF YOU PERSIST THE SELLERS OF THIS PRODUCT WILL MAKE IT VERY HARD FOR YOU TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I have learnt how to cope with the idiosyncrasies of this and its fine, there are times when setup and sync of this hub and the bulbs may have to be attempted more than once but in the end it will work. I would recommend using Muzzley (a free android/ios app) and not their clunky app.
The really good side of this and the bulbs is the well saturated colours, the range of fittings and type of bulbs and the massive (cheaper) price difference compared to the major brands. Cheap enough to take a chance and experiment. A Philips Hue bulb for £50 versus £16 for example.
Unfortunately the down sides are significant. Support is very hit and miss, sometimes a question gets a response other times nothing. The major draw back for me is the lack of support for any of the emerging standards such as Alexa, Apple home, Samsung Smartthings or any of the third party offerings (except Muzzley) so trying to automate or group with other product isn't as easy as it should be or even possible sometimes. Alexa/Echo doesn't support Muzzley in the UK either.
To conclude; I would say buy it and experiment with this aspect of home automation without breaking the bank and above all else be patient and careful when setting up.
It can can control up to 4 groups of bulbs, so next steps: I am planning to buy more bulbs to use with it.
It comes with a cable but no power supply. I am using my iPhone 4 charger with the provided cable.
I have an iPhone and I can use Mi-light app to control each bulb separately or all at once. It's possible to choose the colour, the brightness and there are even some "special" modes provided, to turn the room into a disco for example.
Currently I am not using this app since I have a Raspberry Pi working as a bridge which allows me to control the bulb using the native Home app and of course, ask Siri to control the bulb for me, which is awesome and exactly what I wanted in the first place. I can also automate actions, for example I'm using it to turn on the Hall light when I arrive home.
I have been using it almost for a month now, with no complaints.
Overall, I'm really happy with this product, I can definitely say that this is a good and cheap start for a smart home project.

Terrible customer support! No answers for days. Undocumented API for central control of the bulb. Don't buy if you want to implement it in a little more complex scenarios.Published 6 months ago by Amazon Customer
Works exactly as described. Easy to set up. Usefully works off almost any charger with USB port.Published 11 months ago by James H
Does what it says on the tin. Would be improved by supporting more than 4 devices and having a way to poll the status. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Marx
