But I found that even on the low setting it cooked the food too hot and fast. I boiled the first couple of stews dry to the point that they burned on & cleaning the dish was labour of love. My previous(~30yr old) slow cooker would simmer gently from 8am to 8pm with very little loss of liquid; this one boils rapidly and dries out unless you are there to watch it & top it up, or start with loads, and loads of liquid. If buying again I would definitely go for less power/lower wattage.
The glass lid is always misty. Therefore you cannot see the food clearly, as advertised
