It's probably my inexperience but accessing various apps l find awkward. But the Battery, what battery! With a fully charged battery on a 3hr rail trip to London using different apps constantly and listening to music it was flat before reaching London. Same thing on the return trip! Spare battery might help! I like the quality feel and size and a 5mp camera that takes good photos makes me happy with my purchase
I would like to know what else this seller have in his list, would love to deal with him again.
My Best Regards
*edit: now had for 4 months, and unlike quite a lot of reviews, my phone has not frozen or glitched once, and that isn't because im the sort of person who doesn't use fancy apps, i have downloaded about 50 from the ovi store, which is ok. I do not get the signal problem quite a lot of people seem to be getting, usualy around 4- max bars. From nokia co uk i downloaded an addon for "isync" which comes with every mac. This enabled me to sync contacts, bookmarks, and events from ical, the mac calendar. I was surprised to see that ical is compatible with the nokia calendar, so now whenever i walk in the house, my phone automaticaly updates with my computer via bluetooth by taking any contacts and dates which isnt on the phone, and giving contacts or dates to the computer from the phone.
The good stuff. 1: GPS. When I didn't have my TomTom recently the phone was used and it was on a par with the former. Great voice instructions. 2: Exchange (pull) email. 3: The keyboard. 4: The music player. 5: Connectivity (Apart from BT/Ovi Suite mentioned above) I like being able to connect the device to the PC and use explorer to copy mp3s, jpgs, etc.
Gripes? Well the video camera can produce images that are a bit mushy. The user interface is not as slick as some other phones. The music player doesn't carry across artwork images, for some reason.
It's better than the iphone 3gs for web browsing (higher resolution screen, java enabled for youtube etc, and the keyboard, of course). It also has proper bluetooth and multitasking. But the interface is a bit clunky and there aren't as many apps (yet).
N97 mini turned out to be a complete disaster! The menu jumps, I see incoming calls that I can't receive, I cannot cancel the call when it's over (have to wait for the other party to hang up), I don't know where my contacts are, as the phone doesn't sync properly with Ovi software.
Numbers in my incoming SMS are often not recognised, so I can only know who the SMS is from if I quickly try and give that number a missed call. But wait! I can't cancel a call, so I often end up having to call people just to see who they are.
The firmware has been disintegrating for the past 6 months. Now I cannot even read my messages. The worst is that I don't feel safe with this phone. Last night I had to call a taxi, but the phone stopped working, and multiple restarts didn't solve it. So I ended up having to walk in an area that's not that safe late at night. I dread having to make an emergency call with this phone, so I'm back to my very old 6820, which is far more reliable.
I hope Nokia can replace this phone with a DIFFERENT model, or they risk losing a loyal customer forever.
I rely on my phone for everything - maps, to-do, calendar events, Skype calls, SMS, contacts, email, etc and this has really messed up my life.
