Obviously the thing works, not as fast as AC charging but you sacrifice a small amount with all wireless chargers. The blue indicator light is quite dim so fine for bedside use. I am particularly satisfied with the aesthetics of the thing, it looks really good.

My Nexus 5 with a thick case on hooks up no problem, the centre of the phone does need to line up with the centre of the pad. There's a bit of leeway but you can't just drop it on there - maybe without the case you can be more slapdash I didn't check.

The extra usb ports on the device are useful too. The pad doesn't come with a plug, just a USB cable, so bear that in mind depending where you want to use it. I have ended up using this on the office desk plugged into the PC, it's super convenient as you can just grab & go and the phone's USB port takes less of a daily battering. I've ordered another for the bedside too.

after a few uses it seems to be charging intermittently, haven't bothered to use it since as a few times I checked and it wasnt charging. I have a very thin cover on the Nexus and cannot see that causing any issues

Smart Technology contacted me when they seen the review and kindly asked if they could help in finding out why the product was not working correctly, after checking it was most likely faulty, they sent me a replacement free of charge. I have to say their customer service was top class and the issue has been resolved, with this I am changing my review to 5 stars as great customer service and a good product to me is what makes the Amazon experience what it should be. Thanks again to Koko for the quick replies, I will be using them again for sure.

I bought this item 15 months ago and have been very pleased with it. It stopped charging a few days ago and I wrote to Smart Technology to try and get the manufacturer's contact details, given that the item was over a year old. Subsequently I found advice on a forum that a reboot of my Nexus 5 might solve the problem - I am embarrassed to say it did and the temporary fault was with the phone not the charger!

Smart Technology replied immediately to my request and explained that the manufacturer details were confidential but made a very generous offer to replace the product at half price. I have thanked them and told them about the reboot but wanted to give good feedback for a very helpful and accommodating supplier

I have been using this charger with Google Nexus 5 for three weeks, and I am very satisfied with the performance and the quality of it. I find the charger especially convenient on any phone that uses a micro USB port which is pretty fragile by design. Not having to constantly plug in or out will prolong your phone's life cycle.

I get a full charge fast enough. The indicator led is a nice feature to have - it isn't too bright for night use either. I can't comment on the performance of the extra two USB ports since I never use them.

The charger is large enough to hold almost any phone or tablet yet compact enough not to hog too much space on my desk. It feels sturdy, and it stays in place nicely with the rubber feet.

All in all, it's a good product that does what it says. I couldn't ask for more.

Decent looking product, delivered within the advised delivery time and well packaged. Charges my 2013 Nexus 7 even through a fairly thick leather case (iGadgitz Premium Executive Black PU Leather Case). 2 x USB ports are particularly useful when traveling - output is 0.8 A, so ideal for charging my iphone and Nexus at the same time off one socket. I particularly like the fact that the fairly flimsy charging port lead combination that the Nexus features isn't facing daily wear and tear (my old Nexus has become next to useless due to the worn charging port).

My major frustration with this device is that it is surprisingly hard to place my tablet on the charger in just the right place that charging starts. There is always an element of faffing around and checking to see if the blue light on the charger is flashing to indicate that my Nexus is being charged. This is usually accompanied by a 'docked' sound, although for some reason this does not only happen.

I might need to hack together a guiding edge to align my tablet correctly every time.

Its a bit small for my tab, but it charges all my devices very quickly. I was suprised at it's efficiency to be fair I kind of expected it to be slower than a normal charge but if anything I'd say it might possibly be quicker.
None of my friends know what it is - but they are all really impressed (???) when they find out it's a induction charger. Pictures taken and all sorts.. Hey look what I saw today fb, a black square! haha.. But I digress, it works well & charges fast. My only bug I would say is its very small so only one device at a time (unless you use one of the USB ports to insert a 2nd charge lead - so you're covered either way!).

I haven't tried using the other charging ports on the device (But that kind of defeats the point of the device) but when I put my Nexus 5 on it to charge, it will drop in and out of a connection for a few minutes until keeping a solid connection and working perfectly. The charging time is similar to using a cable - but the added convenience is nice.

The Nexus 7 2013 is a different story, it will drop in and out of a connection constantly and get quite warm (Not surprisingly, it's a lot of energy), so I just connect that directly via a cable now.

Be careful when choosing a charger for this though. I'm using the charger from my iPad since it chucks out quite a few amps. Try to use a charger that puts out at least 1.5 amps for the best luck.

Overall, If I had the choice again, I would go for the official Nexus wireless charger. It includes magnets to line up the devices properly, and just a better build quality overall. But, if you're looking for a bit more of a bargain and don't mind the trade offs, this is still a good idea for the Nexus 4 and 5.
