Very moving and novel. Cast are wonderful, music is perfect, and it is beautifully shot. Watched it twice in the space of a few days and it really has a soothing effect in its setting, light and melancholy. Plenty of joy to juxtapose the downbeat nature. A truly modern romance and Joaquin really is 'like a puppy dog' in it. The introduction of modern 'gaming' is very funny. Take a look at this film.
Yes I liked the movie, but it's not one I would go back to any time soon. So I wish I'd just waited for it to turn up on one of the subscription on-demand tv services (Netflix, Amazon prime Instant video etc) rather than buy the bluray. The movie is more about the main character's difficulty in committing to new relationship but somehow finding himself drawn into relating to an operating system he buys on impulse whilst walking through a shopping mall. The connection seems immediate but never really believable, although there are done very sweet moments mainly on his part. There are some near futuristic aspects to the film, but really that's just to allow some believability in what takes place; I mostly found it cute rather than moving or revelatory despite some philosophical aspects, but that's about it.
Brilliant film......a friend recommended it to me. Well worth the money. The funny bits are really funny,& I guess you would say that the sad bits are really sad. Watch it twice, so you can catch every word, because the American speak is baffling at times.
