This kind of device seemed to be just the thing I needed.
Employing the old maxim that you should go to the highest speed, or memory capacity, you can afford was also a factor in my choice.
Parcelled well the package arrived after a very minimal delay which was literally a day or two.
A printable VAT receipt is emailed to you for those of you who are business account users.
Now the main question? Does it it work as described?
Yes is the answer to this question, it is just simply plug and play!
No software required.
So if you're hubs Ethernet ports are full and you need to add even more devices to your home or office hub via Ethernet cables this bit of tech will do the job.
For those who might ask, mine is connected to a Sky home hub, but as it's a stand alone device and requires simply plug and use installation then connectivity to any hub shouldn't be a problem.
Put the switch in the place I wanted it to be in.
Plugged the cable connected to my BT Home hub's Gig-E port into the switch.
Plugged a cable into the switch & plugged the other end into my PC's Ethernet port, and ditto a second cable into the switch & my ROKU streaming box..
Plugged the power adaptor into the mains, connected it to the switch & turned it on.
Then I turned off Wi-Fi on the ROKU, and set in to a cable connection. Ditto PC.
By the time I had turned off Wi-Fi on both devices they had already connected back to the net through the switch.
The only way it could have been easier would have been for the switch to come with an android in the box to do the above for me.
It's also nice and small, and has the option to be wall mounted. At the weekend I will mount it out of sight.
Went with the black plastic because the rest of my system is black to keep the theme.
The unit is just plug and play.Although you will need to buy Cat5e/Cat6 cables as they are not included (If you don't have them)
I've transferred 400GB of data from one Server to another at an average of 70MB/s (My DS212J is maxed out and the fastest it will transfer switch or not)
It looks and feel like a good bit of kit. Time will tell, I'll update accordingly
It is small, lightweight and seems to be very power efficient with an eco mode when not in use.
Highly recommended as a cost effective switch, this was my first TP-Link product and was very pleased with this.

Very good, no set-up.
Only issue is that after a few years it appears to fail for no reason every now and then, restart fixes it every time though.
It does exactly as stated, nice cheap little box.
