This classic game of charades is designed especially for children to help them learn and play. This educational game will help children express themselves by acting out a charade listed on the cards provided, in order to get the other player to guess the object or phrase they are trying to portray. This board game contains cards to suit all age groups from 4 years and up. The younger children can have fun looking at the pictures whilst acting subjects such as Lions, Dogs and Cats. Older children act out fun things like eating spaghetti or doing up shoelaces. Whatever age you are, this game is great fun for the whole family. This game is for 3 or more players.

There's 3 charade options on each card, you roll the dice (numbered 1-3) to select which one to do, and then you do the phrase (eg "Putting up the washing") within the time allowed by the supplied timer.
For young kids, there are picture cards included of animals and other objects, which they will find easy to do, and you'll soon see them wanting to try some of the more difficult cards as they understand how charades works.
My kids never played charades before this, and they love it now. We frequently play this, and you can control the length of the game by deciding how many rounds to play - so the game can last anything from 5mins to 30mins+ based on this approach.
Despite all the fantastic presents at Christmas, myself and my family (including grandchildren) had super fun with this game. It’s as old as the hills in principle, but gives hours of pleasure and laughs.
I ordered this set to play with the 7 year old girl who lives next door to me. She calls me ‘Grandad’ too, and is often round at my house. She is well versed in computers and iPads etc. but she really loves to play games such as Snakes and Ladders, cards, etc. with me.
I knew that she would also love Charades – and she certainly does.
I think that it is not just fun to play, it is quite educational. It teaches fast reading (and the difference between verbs and nouns etc.), fast thinking, use of the imagination, and confidence in acting things out.
I was highly amused to see a 2 year old child in a pushchair the other day – playing a game on her mum’s iPhone!
There is nothing inherently wrong with that, because it kept her quietly amused whilst her mum was shopping. But it doesn’t have the additional benefits of the traditional children’s games.
This is an all-round excellent and educational game for children, and fun for children and adults alike.
My little neighbour and her mum and dad came round last night before dinner. We all played for 2/3 hours (by which time my stomach was rumbling a bit). Her mum asked me to order another one of these for them to play in their own house.
I think that this probably speaks more than my main review does!
Whether you buy or not, I hope that you find my review informative and helpful to you in some way when making your decision.
Thanks for reading it.
some of the cards have a photo of the action on the back (so its great for younger players), other cards in the box have words on the back, so good for older kids who can read...and for teaching younger ones how to read or recognise words.
Excellent value for money and have purchase several since as gifts for other kids.
Younger cousin of 3 joined in but didn't have much of an idea. Best for infant age, 4-6
