I’ll upload a photo of it with some coins for scale.
The multi position switch is quite chunky and very easy to operate. Was expecting it to be a bit fiddly given the size, but it’s great.
It’s ready to use straight from the pack as batteries are already fitted.
The light is bright enough to be useful in many situations, it’s no floodlight but it’s not just for emergency use either.
The cord on the back is not elastic. It’s a very strong braided material, possibly Dacron.
You have to pull the cord out against spring tension. The cord causes me no discomfort when wearing as the spring is not too strong. It is strong enough to snap back on its own though so be careful.
The lamp itself is attached to the base by a ball joint so it can be freely positioned.
I really like this light. It’s so well thought out. Only downside for me is that it’s so small that I’ve lost it once already.
Having received my Petzl E+Lite in April I have only tried it in the garden after dark but as I have a raised garden pond the dog disappeared from view. However, I could clearly see where he was with the flashing white light. Weighing diddly squat means the dog does not know he is wearing anything and easy peasy to attach to his harness. Roll on winter. Now I do not need to see the light source as the flash is plenty bright enough.
There is a red flashing option but this does not seem nearly as bright. Cannot vouch for its use as a head torch...possibly the elastic might be a tad uncomfortable but as an emergency light there is none to compare.
Tiny, bright and lasts for hours. The accompanying leaflet explains the running time in the various modes and how far away the light is visible, depending on how long it has been operational.
Dog walkers who go out in the dark this is a must have.Read more ›
