This set is excellent if you have long thick hair, or just need a lot of rollers for your style. One of the problems with the other sets you see is that there aren't enough rollers of each size, this set provides more than enough. This was my first go with heated rollers, and after I'd worked out how many rollers of what size was going to give me the style I was after, I've had no problems. They only need to stay in for about 10 minutes to cool down and the curls are really defined and stay there. There's a lot of good videos on you tube that give advice on how to use rollers, but it really does depend on how thick or long your hair is.

I bought these rollers a couple of weeks ago and they are brilliant.
My hair is long and quite thick so I was dubious about how well they would create a curl in my hair as I had to wrap a lot of hair around the curler before the curler reached my head - but I have to say they work very well and gave me shiny ringlet curls that looked brill.

The kit contains colour coded pins which relate to the different coloured rollers and also super clips with a drawstring bag to store them all in, I know that other Babyliss roller kits don't provide anywhere to store your clips. The pins do a better job of keeping the roller securely in place than the super clips but do take longer to get the hang of, but once you do, I found them a lot easier as they give a tighter hold and also don't obstruct your view of the rest of your hair as the super clips can stick out quite a way .

The kit has two heat settings and an on/off indicator light, but one downside is that it does not have a 'ready' indicator so at first for me it was a bit of guesswork, but I found that 10 minutes to let the unit heat up is suffice. The selection of roller sizes is great and I nearly use all of them as I have so much hair! The rollers themselves have a 'cool rim' but be warned that this is only on one side of the roller, so take care to hold the right side of the roller when inserting or you will get hot fingers.

The first time you use, the unit gives off quite a strong 'plasticky' smell but disappears after 2-3 uses.

4/5 stars due no ready indicator (other Babyliss rollers have a ready dot on a roller) and I would have also liked some basic instructions of use included but I guess this is because they are from the professional range, but we are not all hair stylists!

Bought these for she-who-must-be obeyed who hot-rolls her hair every morning. She started on Carmen Rollers hundreds of years ago and thinks the Babyliss set is the canines danglers and wouldn't have any other. One star knocked off for bulk - you can't bung 'em in a drawer.

I have just recently bought these rollers and i have to say they are absolutely brilliant. My hair just will not curl normally, hairdressers have tried with straighteners and curling tongs but it just wouldnt hold a decent curl, i also recently purchased a Ceramic Hot Air brush which was totally usless on my hair just made it so static i could do nothing with it. But these rollers were amazing, i left them in for two hours and when i took them out, OMG! i had curls like i have never had before in my life, and they lasted for about 5 hours before starting to drop, so i would most definatley recommend these rollers, you will not be dissapointed. The only down side for me i had no technique on how to put them in, espcially as i have so much hair, so i did need someone to put them in for me.

I have been a hairdresser for many years and have used heated rollers on myself lots of times. I bought these from my professional warehouse supplier so thought they would be the best available. They just aren't hot enough to hold the curl for any length of time. Other ones, especially Carmen vintage, get very hot and the curl would last all day unfortunately they do not make them any more and are only available second hand. If you can get hold of a set they are the ones I would recommend.

I was iniitally very hopeful about these rollers, having read the positive reviews. In the past, I've used Clairol flocked rollers and the Nicky Clarke travel rollers. When I first purchased these Babyliss rollers, they appealed to me because the set comes with 30 rollers -- finally enough to do my medium-length, straight, thick hair all at once. I'm disappointed for a few reasons. First, the babyliss rollers take *ages* to heat up. I've had to let them sit for at least 60 mins. Secondly, they then need to be left in the hair for about 2 hours to get the same effect as other brands' rollers (curls that will hold for more than an hour or two). Finally, after all that, my hair has gone limp and the curls have fallen after just an hour or two after the rollers have come out. The other brands I've mentioned have done a much better job -- heating up in 15 minutes, creating long-lasting curls after being in the hair for 20 minutes at most. The reason I want to use hot rollers is for a quick, low-maintenance way to create lots of body and volume with staying power; alas, these rollers are very high maintenance and add up to hours of work that are simply not worth it. I'm so disappointed -- my only guess is that, perhaps, these rollers would work well if you already had *very, very* curly hair and were just looking for something to add body and smoothness. If I could go back in time, I would not purchase these and instead would remain on the lookout for another brand's set of 20+, flocked, rollers (preferably with an indicator light that tells you when the rollers are hot enough -- the 'dots' on these Babyliss rollers and not a reliable indicator at all).
