After my old USB hub failed I started searching for a new one on Amazon. Since I use a number of different formats of memory cards (Compact Flash, SD, micro-SD mainly) finding a product which as well as being a USB hub also included a multi-card reader was a bit of a bonus. The third product photograph clearly shows a Compact Flash socket next to the male USB port. Unfortunately on receiving the hub/reader this is apparently not the case. So apart from the three USB ports the actual model I have received takes the following cards: SD/MMC, TF, MS, and M2 (the photos also indicate that it will take an XD card - mine doesn't, but I don't use this format). Clearly the product advertised is different to the actual one sent out. Suggest that seller clearly lists all the card formats that the actual product will use and doesn't put up duff misleading photographs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Useless cable for anything but a laptop. 31 Jan. 2012

I couldn't find the length of the USB interconnect cable anywhere in this listing, but I decided to risk it. Unfortunately my fears were justified... the interconnect cable is about 6" long. So, if you're buying this for your laptop, and want to plug it directly into the device, or have it sit right next to the device, this might work fine. If however you want this hub to sit up on your desktop and provide additional ports to a tower/desktop that sits under your desk, this will be of no use to you without an additional USB extension cable of at least 3-6 feet. 6inches isn't even enough to get from the builtin USB ports on the back of a case to the top of the case, so the hub might not even be able to sit on top of the computer, but will have to dangle off the back.

Otherwise, it's a nice compact hub with a decent selection of options.

Edit: THIS HUB WILL NOT WORK FOR AN IPHONE. It does not deliver enough power.

It's exactly what you want. Three extra usbs, card readers for all, in a cool little cube, and all the power it needs. I charge me phone run my TB external and use my mouse on it with no issues at all.

Pros: I expected this to be much bigger, its good that its so small though as this is mainly used as my laptop hub/SD reader.

Con: For me i don't like that each of the USB female ports swivel

But many might find my pros to be a con and my con to be a pro.

Plug and play straight out of the box. Works great so far. Haven't tried all the card ports yet, but expect no problems.
