Product Description

A few bleached bones are all that remains of the elusive wolf that used to live in Timothy Dalton's adopted state of California. In search of the reason for the nefarious reputation of these creatures, the James Bond star sets off on a quest that takes him to Alaska to meet the Nunamuit - an Eskimo tribe of wolf hunters.

This is a really nice program to watch with the children. It's not too long and not too scientific. Timothy Dalton visits Alaska, Montana, Minnesota and the Canadian high Arctic in search of wolves in the wild. He does a great job talking about the plight of the wolves as they were hunted to near extinction, while also highlighting the respect the native people had for the animal. Also very nice is the enthusiasm he shows about sightings of wolves, and also some bears when his search for wolves in Alaska proves futile.

If you're looking for an in depth documentary about the habitat and behaviour of wolves, this is not for you. If you enjoy seeing remote parts of the World and amazing animals in the wild, you'll probably enjoy it. I enjoyed it, the children loved it - where else would you find it, James Bond howling with the wolves and feeding his lunch to a cuddly wolf cub?
