Pre Show
WWE Tag Team Championships
New Age Outlaws vs. Rhodes Brothers
Nothing special between these four, Goldust was impressive as he has been since his return.

Opening Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt
Wow! Bray Wyatt has arguably the best character in WWE today but there were questions about his in ring efforts. This match confirms that he is incredible inside the ring too. His mannerisms and character work is on another level. Having the best worker in WWE today Daniel Bryan certainly helped the match out. These two worked a fantastic match with an incredible finish to boot.
****1/4

Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
I didn't like this "match" I believe if you want to make Brock Lesnar look unbeatable then let him beat Big Show clean and without weapons. This wasn't a match, it's a segment that drags on too long. Big Show walking out of the arena just ruined any moment they were trying to make.

WWE World Championship (hate that name)
Randy Orton vs. John Cena
Talk about seeing this too much. The crowd are the real superstars here, they tell these guys exactly what they want to see and that is Daniel Bryan and at one point divas! The match is slow with an odd pace. Finish was inventive at the time until WWE ignored that it ever happened and repeated the spot at the next PPV. This isn't required viewing at all.
**

Royal Rumble 2014
Well this didn't go to plan did it? It's an okay Rumble but to be honest nothing special happens bar the crowd's reaction to the obvious winner and the final participant to be eliminated. I don't rate Rumble's because it's very difficult to do so. It's better than 2012's but not 2013.

Required viewing:
Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt
Rumble i suppose

This was the twenty seventh annual Royal Rumble PPV and it featured a WWE championship match between John Cena and Randy Orton, a match between Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt and the Royal Rumble match itself which was advertised as being the return of The Animal, Batista.

The New Age Outlaws vs. Goldust & Cody Rhodes - This was a bonus match on the Royal Rumble pre-show and it is for the tag team championships. Cody and Goldust got the upper hand early on but by the time the commercial break was over the Outlaws were in control and had slowed down the pace. They then wore down Goldust until he managed to tag out. The match was alright, it was at it's best while the Rhodes brothers were on offence. It was kept quite short though as it was only the pre-show.

Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt - Bryan was unable to get much offence in to start this match as he was preoccupied with Harper and Rowan on the outside. The referee saw them trying to get involved and sent them to the back which allowed this to become a more competitive match. Bryan started targeting Wyatt's leg but by the end he had given up on that and was just trying to hit Bray with everything he had while Bray spent the match viciously targeting Bryan's head. This was an amazing back and forth match with a great ending. A really good way to start the event.

Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show - Lesnar went right for Big Show and took him down and kept on attacking him before the bell had been rung. He was eventually backed up and the match started. Big Show hit his KO punch as soon as the match officially started but it didn't knock Brock out. Brock managed to come back and hit an F-5 on the Giant. This was very short and it wasn't very good but since it was so short it didn't take anything away from the event.

The Royal Rumble in 2014 is not the best Royal Rumble in history, but it is certainly one of the most important, and changed the landscape for the entire year, and future of WWE.

Without spoiling anything for you, this event led to huge changes in the Wrestlemania Title picture, all thanks to the audience, who had finally had enough, and rebelled in a big way.

1 - Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt - The first match of the year is a contender for match of the year. The crowd is fully behind Bryan (as they are all night) and these two put on a fantastic display. 8/10

2 - Brock Lesnar vs Big Show - Hard to rate this one, you will understand why, when you watch it. It serves a purpose.

3 - Randy Orton vs John Cena - The audience turned on this match, and let WWE know that they are fed up of seeing Orton vs Cena again. A good match but overshadowed by the boo's and chants from the crowd. 6/10

4 - Royal Rumble Match - An entertaining match, if a little light on major names. Contains an ending which needs to be seen, WWE did not expect the reaction that the winner was to recieve.

This gets 4 stars from me, it is a must watch PPV in my opinion, due to the fact that it literally changed the future of the WWE.
