For many, an appearance in the magistrates' court is the first encounter with the Law. Bemused, perhaps frightened and often arrogant, their offence may range from a simple motoring case to murder. But whatever the degree of involvement, the experience is one that will remain indelibly etched on the memory.
In each of its four series Six Days of Justice examined six fictitious cases, exact in detail, with procedural advice supplied by magistrates; although similar in style and content to Crown Court, its evening scheduling allowed the series to tackle cases with greater authenticity than its daytime counterpart. This second series stars Diana Quick, George Waring, Jill Gascoine, John Abineri, Jean Boht and Brian Pettifer, and features scripts by Trevor Preston (Callan), Robert Holles (Coronation Street), and noted author and journalist Jeremy Seabrook; the series also presents the first televised screenplay by future Oscar nominee Shane Connaughton (My Left Foot).

was Thames TV's answer to that other great legal masterpiece, 'Crown Court'
and even promised 'greater authenticity' than its Granada counterpart!
I'm not too sure about that particular claim but I absolutely loved this;
such varied cases and a tremendous wealth of acting ability from both
the Bench and the dock. The theme tune is a cracker too and I even fancy
the pro-Royalist prologue to each episode: 'In the name of the Queen we meet
to seek Justice!'
You'd have to see this to notice one special thing about the conclusion to each
of these shows- but no, I won't give it away!
I seem to have made my order the wrong way round because I've not yet
got Series 1: what was I thinking of???
