A group of teenagers, obviously too young to have followed the 'Friday the 13th' series, arrive at the remote Placid Pines Camp for their summer holidays. After tempting fate by playing a campfire game called 'Bloody Murder', the killings begin for real, with the assailant kitted out in regulation ice hockey mask and wielding the obligatory chainsaw.

Firstly, there is nothing orginial at all about it, does the plotline old summer camp reopens, urban legend, teens being killed off one by one sound familar? Just think of a mash up of 'Friday the 13th', 'Halloween' and 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'. Secondly, having a star name in a movie doesn't necessarily mean that it will be a good one, but this film doesn't even have actors, the 'acting' from all concerned is appalling. The list goes on... no suspense, no blood (despite it's title), no nudity (which is rare for a summer camp slasher film) and above all, there's no point to it. Sly laughs might come from the fact that the music is more suited to a soap than a slasher.
'Scream Bloody Murder' is one of those low-key turkies that is so bad, it really isn't funny.
Well having absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into I dived headlong into this low budget grindhouse slasher from the 70s, and came out the other end a very happy viewer.
Scream Bloody Murder follows a very dysfunctional teenage kid who has a hook for a hand. He has women and sex issues and this leads him to kill anyone who wants a good time. His killing sends him fron town to town until he settles and kind of falls head over heels with a woman. Only thing is she is a prostitute.
I love this film as from the first minute it is in your face and gets on with the killings. There are plenty here, some quite bloody. Which is a surprise given the 15 certificate. The film demands any horror/slasher fans attention, and is enjoyable stuff. It's been directed very well too. So yes the picture isn't great and the acting leaves a lot to be desired. But it's always nice finding a horror gem amongst the tons of rubbish out there, no matter what era.
It's daft, it's cheesy, it's a bit deranged. If you like stuff like 'Axe' you will be happy too.
Is there no such thing as plagiarism in films ?. If there is, why aren't the makers of Friday 13th going to court over this carbon copy of their far superior slasher.
This is so cringingly bad that i felt embarrassed for all concerned whilst watching it.
The dialogue is tin-eared bad. The acting is lame. The gore feeble. The suspense and excitement non-existent.
In fact, this could be a blueprint for how NOT to make a slasher film.
Grim viewing indeed, and a complete waste of my time.
The acting is terrible and the blood is nowhere to be seen.
Don't buy this if u like sex or nudity in you're slasher films 'cause there isn't any.
There is a sequal that's available in America + Canada with a different director with a lot of sex and nudity so Amazon may bring it out over here. So the sequal must be better than this 'cause nothing can be worse.
