Jack Frost is one of the funniest films I have ever seen, and it contains some absolutely classic film comedy moments, which unfortunately will never be seen by most people (the corpse in the rocking chair, anyone?). It's no horror film (I've seen bags of shopping which are more frightening), so just take it as it was obviously intended - an unashamedly low-budget, tongue-in-cheek horror film spoof. PS Jack Frost II is rubbish. --Simon Cox

ok, maybe not the best, but it IS damn funny. It's a film that doesn't take itself too seriously, and doesn't ask you to either. Just sit back, relax and let Christmas come early! I first saw it in the local rental store (it had a holographic cover) and thought it was so preposterous a story that it HAD to be watched. And I'm glad i got it. I hear there's a sequel too. Oh, and just how DO you tell the difference between Snowmen and Snow-women?!!!! --Richard Bennett

This may be the worst film ever made but it is absolutely hilarious. The bath scene had me crying with laughter. This is not a horror but a classic comedy, watch this film and your life will change for the better. p.s After you see this film you will want to watch 'jack frost 2,' well dont, because that is trully the worst film ever made. --jamkopking --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

jack frost is a 1996 movie that can easily get 1 star for the shoddy acting, woeful script and so on but with that comes a fortunate thing, the film is genuinely funny and filled with quotes that while maybe not as good as say,ash from evil deads, are cool all the same.

To have a serial killer return as a snowman to the town that threatened his life borders on the insane and the shots of jack up close reveal a man in a dodgy white suit, but again it works, not every film could find glory in its failings but with jack frost it works.

The film may never have been made to be viewed for its lack if brilliance but it has become infamous for that nevertheless and scenes where jack asks for a cigarette and then kills the person who he asked with an axe and then jack says 'i only axed you for a smoke' give you an idea of what you are dealing with ,but its that rich vein of quotes that make the film so bad,yet so good, there are lots of shoddy b movies but they will struggle to get 4 stars the way jack frost does, strange, isnt it.

If you're into low budget horror, with no special effects (bar a cartoon sequence that they REALLY pushed the boat out for) then you'd like Jack Frost. The plot revolves around a serial killer who, on his way to the electric chair, is involved with a lorry carrying experimental DNA acid that fuses his DNA with that of the snow he lands in - hence, Killer Snowman. He then sets out to get revenge on the smalltown cop who sent him down, much decapitation and mutilation of townsfolk ensues, all accompanied by a jolly Christmas-themed soundtrack.
But really, this film has little going for it. Parts are entertaining, even humourous, I THINK they did it on purpose but it's hard to tell.
Purely from a "how not to make a film" point of view, people should watch this. Give it to film students as the anti-thesis of all they should stand for.
It looks like it was a good laugh making this film, but unless you're a die hard fan of cheap schlock, don't buy it.

I am always happy to give a film a go and watch through until the end hoping for improvement, sadly I just couldn't finish watching this! It really is an awful film, I could excuse the poor, on non existent special effects but I couldn't excuse the poor acting, especially from the Sherriff!

Don't believe the cover picture for how the snowman looks, just think how he would look if you had some cardboard and a load of cotton wool!

That along with the wooden acting meant I had to end the pain and switch it off!

As soon as the film started I began thinking poor quality, two prison guards driving in a snow blizzard looking out of a window the size of a postage stamp. Then when the collision occurs absolutely pathetic. Gave up after 20 minutes as it was too stupid for words. Horrified to see there is Jack Frost 2. I'd liked this film, its alot of fun. I managed to convince my Mother to watch it after convincing her it was the terrible Michael Keating film of the same name, the only comment I got was "Hmmmm its abit strong" hahahaha.
