Brilliant front view camera (Very detailed playback; but not with included software though (see comment later)), rear not so good (you can see cars and people but not very detailed and forget seeing a license plate if you are rear ended). I would have given a 5 star as the item is very good and very easy to use and set up despite what others have written BUT I am not happy about the virus that the included disk tried to install on my PC. I did download Datakam player and this worked flawlessly for playing back my recordings. Overall happy with the camera but majorly P'd off about the virus (Bitdefender (paid for) has now picked up 12 threats since I inserted the disk and this is without installing it fully and I run anti virus every day on my PC due to the work I do !!!

Software didn't work contacted e prance who told me to try online download, tried this but this was rejected by virus checker.
E Prance sent a new disk but this also has a background Trojan tracking virus and virus checker stopped loading of programme.
Have found a suitable program on the net (DATAKAM PLAYER) that is virus free.
To sum up Good Camera Good Pictures but Dodgy software.
this needs addressing.

I've tried and tested many dash cams over the past year - and nothing comes anywhere near the E-Prance!

This is the only cam I've tried that has good quality video at night, something most dash cams just fail! The device does come with a broken english manual - but the support from the seller is second to none - highly recommended for the after support I have received!

The device supports all the usual features you'd expect - a surprise for me was when you start the car the camera will power on itself and start recording, and then after a delay will shut down when you turn off the engine! There is a GPS module - but like others I struggled to get this to work, and the software on the disc I would avoid and instead buy a cheap Micro SD card reader to watch back your video footage.

The rear view camera is a very clever idea - and after some wiring, it works very well! Hardly 1080p HD quality, but it reads the number plate of the vehicle behind you if the were to get too close for comfort! The front camera is genuine 1080p quality and provides a very smooth playback. A Class 10 SD card is I would say a must though, these cards offer a faster read and write speed, something you need when you have two cameras providing video.

The image quality is ok but we could only see the number plate of the car in front at very low speeds and while only a few feet away (forget it if you're on a motorway). If you are buying this for the GPS playback, forget it. I have tried all sorts to try and get the mapping to playback with the video. E-Prance were not much help. If anyone has managed to get their GPS to work, please comment on this. I am currently using "DATAKAM Player" / "Registrator Viewer". The unit creates a ".map" file but doesn't seam to contain any data.

Still trying to get this set up correctly early days - only had it two days
The internal clock doesn't seem to keep time well - it looses a couple of minutes in 10 hours ... this means there is a time gap in recordings when GPS lock is acquired and the clock gets corrected.
The camera clams 140 degrees vision ... but it is noticeably narrower on the 1080P setting compared to VGA or 720P ... maybe a software update would fix that (came with 2014-09 software)
It seems to stop recording when at traffic lights - but that could be because the motion detection was on (as supplied) and there was no motion, I suspect the motion detection also defeats the auto shut-off timer that should countdown once when the power is removed.
The connectors all stick out of the right side if the main unit - only the top one (rear camera) has a sensible right angle connector, the others stick straight out of the side of the camera - by the way the camera is made (no swivel lens) - this means in my case they obscure part of the rear view mirror - it would be nice to mount it elsewhere but it would be in the way of the sun shades.
Dislike all the brightwork - to my mind, the unit should be all matt black so it's less obvious.

I have had a couple of dashcams over the years, and i have to say this one is awful. The main problem - the image quality is terrible. With the camera facing out the windscreen it seems to focus on all the bits of dirt on the wind screen and put them perfectly in focus and unfortunately everything else outside of the car is blurred, so all the cars and buildings you want in detail are blurred. Want to be able to see the number plate of a car?....not a chance. The menus and everything are pretty standard and easy to navigate and the build quality seems good for the price but i can't live with the poor image. I did't even bother connecting the rear cam, but at 480p, i can only imagine the image quality is even worse. After 30 mins the unit is now boxed up and ready to be shipped back to amazon for a full refund.
