'THIS SAVAGE LAND' is the much anticipated second album from English rock titans Black Spiders. Full of highly charged rock and roll the album delivers the bands trademark catchy choruses wrapped in truly huge. In June 2008 Pete Spider Spiby (vocals / guitar), Ozzy Owl Lister (guitar) Mark Dark Shark Thomas (guitar) Adam the Fox Irwin (bass) and Tiger Si (drums) came together for the first time as Black Spiders. They released debut single St Peter shortly after and started making a name for themselves with some thrilling live shows. The band released two acclaimed EP s NO GOATS IN THE OMEN and CINCOHOMBRES (Diez Cojones) which preceded the acclaimed debut album SONS OF THE NORTH . The album reached the Top 5 in the Official UK Rock Charts and spent 9 weeks on the German Rock chart. Riding the wave of acclaim Sons received, they completed two sold out UK headline tours and were nominated for awards in Classic Rock Magazine s Album Of The Year category and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods in the 'Best UK Band Category'. At the tail end of 2011 and the start of 212 they took some time out to write and work on the tracks that now make up the second full-length album THIS SAVAGE LAND . The mission was simple get in and blast out ten killer tracks that beat the listener into rock n roll euphoria!

Fans of this high octane band need not fret - 'this Savage Land' is a tremendous album and every bit a match of their debut. The standard of song writing remains high and the energy is utterly breath taking. Rock needs the Black Spiders - they continue to lead the field and will remain forerunners if they continue to maintain this very high standard.
A brilliant album that I cannot stop listening to. Its in the car, on my iPod, my phone.
There are lots of bands who might attempt to say that, or may have attempted to be that, but Black Spiders are the real deal having everything that has made MH amazing over the years...it is heavy, hook-laden, fast and loud, British rock and roll.
This sort of music can so easily become dull and one-dimensional with the same old tired riffs again and again but Black Spiders have a nice combo of slightly bluesy stoner rock(?) and good old fashion heavy drinking rock and roll.
If you are thinking of giving them a try get this record first as it is a good place to start (if you listen to and love 'Balls' don't hesitate to get this) but you will not be even slightly disappointed by the first album if you chose that instead.
I hope they do a massive UK tour soon.
