Well ten albums including a double for funds equivalent to pocket money is a bargain indeed.
The albums come in a sturdy box and have separate cardboard covers without any further information. At the end of the days who cares as the information required is available on the internet.

I have a couple of the albums from the late 90’s and when I saw this at a reasonable cost, I could not resist. I am not the typical fan and do not think that Dream Theater are gods. Some of their albums are excellent and some of their albums are good, but are not that great.

Train of Thought: I love this album. It is quite heavy all the way through apart from a short ballad. The album is quite cohesive and does not waste any space on any over-indulgence.

Awake: Another album that has great tunes and can be played all the way through without any filler.

A Dramatic Turn Of Events: I did not like this album for quite some time, but have grown to love it. It is quite fun and has some great songs on it. The last two are the best. The band seem rejuvenated after their previous two outings before this.

Octavarium: I like this one too. It possibly has a slight edge for me over A Dramatic Turn Of Events.

Six Degrees Of inner Turbulence: I initially did not get anything from this album at all, but have been playing it quite a bit lately and put it in a bracket with the other albums I Like. I prefer disc one over disc two, Part I of the title track is so sublime and sounds like it could have been used for film music.

Images And Words: Voted by a lot of the fans as being one of the best. I like the album, but do not understand why it gets top marks.

This was a gift to my wife and seh was very happy with it. It is not as fancy as others boxsets on the market but it has all studio albuns with James Labrie in this sort of digipack format. All discs look similar and it is small, so it is very easy to keep it anywhere. I Thought albuns like Black Clouds and Silver Linnings would come in its 2-disc version, but that only happens with 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Overall this is a simple, but very nice pack.

Well worth the money in my opinion for a great collection of music.
Just make sure you pick the right time to buy. I purchased last week when it was at it's lowest of just over £29 delivered, today it is almost £10 dearer. How can you go wrong for less than £3 an album if you are a DT fan like me and want all these albums in one handy place. I like these big releases of the older bands/singers, it is like a "last hurrah", and have purchased a few of these box sets from Amazon at good prices.
The music is excellent and the price can be right as well.

I have only recently heard of Dream Theater through a friend. Well what I can say is that WHY DID IT TAKE HIM SO LONG TO INTRODUCE ME TO THEM!! To me they must be one of the greatest bands ever. This pack of 10 of their albums for the price is great value. I would highly recommend Dream Theater and this set to anyone

These are the official 12 DT studio albums in the order of their release where marked with * are included in the boxset. What's missing here are 2 albums, the first and the latest. Hence one star less. In fact, it doesn't matter to me because I have them all in my collection. I'm a big follower. Seen them live twice. But having included those 2 albums would entitle this a 'Complete Studio Albums'. That would be great. Still glad to have all 6 albums from 'Metropolis Part 2' to 'Black Clouds And Silver Lining' that feature the famous lineups of John Petrucci, John Myung, Mike Portnoy, James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess. My fav lineups. I call them fab five.

What's in the boxset is 10 albums that go in their separate sleeves with the front and back album art covers.

I did not know about Dream Theater until quite recently. I had to buy this after the first time I heard them. Excellent heavy metal, progressive rock. I can also recommend their cover of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon album, which was recorded live, and it comes with a second disk of other live Pink Floyd covers.
