This is not just about liking hardcore, this simply has to be the best collection of hardcore tracks I have ever heard, including the popular track Angel Eyes. The flow of the mixes is seemless and very inspiring, the songs are played at hi speed which is something I prefer from hardcore music and the songs themselves are just uplifting and make you wanna dance so badly. I've not heard volume 1 or 3 yet, but I seriously cannot fault this album at all. A must for any hardcore fan.

The problem with kicking off with Hardcore 2004 is that it sets a very high standard and a blistering pace, and you might worry that it couldn't be sustained - well, it is, so don't. It helps that the tunes are largely by, or remixed by, the compilers, and they flow seamlessly. Plenty of variations in texture to keep the ears interested, yet a consistency in the weight of the production that gives the set a satisfying unity stronger than the sum of its parts, not a mile away from the experience of listening to a symphonic piece, though there are plenty of silly lyrics warbled (very nicely) to stop anyone taking it that seriously, and it isn't undercut by the sort of jokiness that appeals at first but can tire on repeated listening.
Volume 1 is very good, but having heard this one first I was initially disappointed by it, the gap is so great. It's maybe too much to expect a similar step up to Volume 3, but another album of similar quality would be very welcome.

Wow this album compilation is amazing. I am a huge Hardcore fan for over 2 years now, and I have heard most of the Hardcore tunes starting from somewhere 2002 and up. I decided to add this album as well to my collection but was a little skeptical at first because of the release date wasn't so recent. It really surprised me despite of that. Some of the songs really get me! Here I am, in 2012 listening to it and having my moments of joy. :)

the collection vol.2 builds upon the unbeleivable first volume and surpasses it by far, if you liked that you'll love this. packed full of top tunes from start to finish, this next generation/blatant beats 'showcase' has it all, uplifting, vocal, dark hardcore in the typical next gen style. it exposes the amazing talent of 'newcomers' like frisky & hujib, and euphoria, as well as being a compilation of anthems from the worlds best and unbeatable duo brisk & ham.
there is no other album in existence that matches this one in terms of the quality of tunes and just its all over genius, but i feel that with the exposure given to other hardcore labels/releases, this one is in danger of being forgotten at the expense of something more 'popular'. but if your bored with the regular stuff, this will surely restore your faith in hardcore.
top tunes include:
hardcore 2004
crazy love
you ready?
dreamskies
true awareness
b4 tomorrow
ill never stop
love me forever
enter heaven
party crasher
you better run
taste the rainbow

angel eyes
comin closer
to the floor
sounds legit
hardcore overdose
axis mundi
blowin up
huggermugger
run for cover
chaos and might
and, well all of it really!!
