Disappointed. I've been using cpanel for just over a week now. This book didn't teach me anything I hadn't already figured out. Testament to the great cpanel interface perhaps.

I am a developer, so I probably have an unfiar advantage.

This book is for beginners. If you at all experienced in admin interfaces and basic concepts of hosting and servers, it won't be any use to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slightly Dated, but still useful to those looking to enhance their use of CPanel 4 Sept. 2014
By Vincent - Published on Amazon.com

Informative. While it is outdated with every passing year, it is still valuable. If you are not computer savvy at all, then it may not be of much help. Things have moved around in CPanel, but the information is still helpful as long as you can find where it is at in the current version of CPanel.

4.0 out of 5 stars cpanel review 26 May 2009
By carlo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
this is a good book to explain the CPANEL that many web host supply you with. It basically goes through all the options you have on the cpanel. I was confused on what each item actually did - this book explains each one. this is why I purchase this book. And why i purchases from Packt publishers as they give back to open source community.

This is one of the best texts for those unfamiliar with cPanel.
I highly recommend it for bloggers and students.

Good book if you aren't using WordPress and want to plunge into an area of building websites that you maybe shouldn't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview but not for newbies 12 Dec. 2010
By Eliza G - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I'm always looking for ways to empower my web clients, so I'm always looking for books that I can recommend to help them develop an understanding and ability to perform simple tasks themselves. I was hoping this book could serve that purpose -- and it almost can...

If you're already comfortable around the back end of a web site and/or hosting company, this book is great for helping you get the most out of c-panel. If you're just starting out, there's much here that will be over your head. The descriptions are clear and to the point, but a little too brief for newbies.

5 stars for people with a little knowledge + 3 stars for newcomers = 4 stars overall.
